Let it sit over night then pull off the exhaust and check for oil. It also could be valve stem seals or PCV as 2 other common causes for burning oil
My thoughts were if it was piston or valve related it would smoke as soon as you start it? It only smokes after the exhaust heats up
Remember if it is a leaky exhaust valve stem seal and if the valve is in the closed position oil will drip into the exhaust port and will only burn when the exhaust gasses heat up to burn it giving the same symptom as a leaking turbo exhaust seal. Leaky inlets seals will drip oil into or be drawn in and be burnt in the combustion chamber instantly.
Turbo seals. I've gone through a number of turbos in various cars and that's pretty much what happened each time the turbo seals died.
I have a N/A with the same symptoms still tryin to work it out my self. so cant be a turbo seal on my car
If it's blowing smoke under deceleration (high rpm, no throttle) then it will be sucking oil from either your crankcase (PCV's or Piston rings) or from your valve train (stem seals). PCV valves is the most common, cheapest and easiest to fix, try those first. Second is a compression and leak down test. It could also be fuel smoke, whats your consumption like?
consumption ? the z was left sitting for about a year while having extensive repairs done since then new spark new oil had complete engine flush done but no change car seems to be fine but still smokey[/IMG]
piston rings would be blue smoke, you could probably hear them too.. The symptoms you have are the same as what i had, change the turbos with the new ones and watch the smoke disapear
