Hi guys, I am currently trying to source some replacement 'grey' vinyl for the interior of my Zed so I can replace the current stuff that is peeling. Along the lines of this: Problem is that nowhere here in Canberra seems to stock it... Have been to places like Clark Rubber (now seems to be more of a Pool supplies store!), Spotlight (couldn't find any vinyl at all) and even some specific interior re-trim specialists (they want to do the work as well or nothing). So does anyone know somewhere that I can pick some up? If someone has bought some recently, do you know the specific name of the colour/product so I can just ring and order some? Any help is appreciated. Cheers, Dan.
I found a black vinyl with a very similar grain to the OEM vinyl at Spotlight in Brisbane. It matched really well with the rest of the trim even though it was slightly darker. I did the targa bits and the rear sections above the wheel arch.
Can you post up some pics. Keen to see what you've done. Cheers. As for the OP, i recall a very long time ago this topic was brought up, and there was a list of suppliers that had a specific material that matched well to the original. I think it was to do with dash retrimming at the time. Someone will recall it better for sure.
i bought some from a boat re-upholster three metres square cost me around $30 (i think) i couldn't find any vinyl at my local clark rubber or fabric stores
Just something to consider, I remember reading somewhere that a type of vinyl stuff out of a Holden Torana (Not sure what model) is VERY similar to the Z stuff. Maybe something in that which might help? Cheerz, Tom :zlove:
Thanks guys, Might make another trip out to Spotlight and see if was hiding as alot of people in the posts I've searched refer to getting theirs from there... Then its on to the ring-around to random upholstering places I guess! Sux that Clark Rubber has become 'Clark pool, mattress and plug land...' Cheers, Dan
I made an amp case for my son and covered it in Black Vinyl - I got it from Spotlight and they seemed to have a reasonable range of colours, and two levels of quality. Worked out well. In the past I have also bought it from Clark Rubber. Their website says they still stock it. See this link: http://www.clarkrubber.com.au/upholstery-coverings/vinyl-table-coverings-accessories.html
Yeh mate definately spotllight. They have many colours. Replacing the vinyl on both sides are on my to do list, and I will be purchasing from spotlight. There has been some good writeups on here about how to go about it... just do a search.
