Well i went go karting today and had a ball. Just wanted to see if any of the W.A members are interested in either a Go-Kart day or a Barbagallo Track day.

For the Go-Karting - ( if we go to belmont kartworld )

    3 x 20 Laps in 20 lap sessions for 65$
Only issue i see here is that for people going for the first time you have to use the slower karts for the first 60 laps then you can use the super karts. I didnt get to go in the super kart today cause there were to many birthday bookings afterwards so i will do it next time.

Im not 100% if we can book out the whole place so that we all race each other but if we can i was thinking of getting 16 people and having the first 8 go from say 12:00-3:00 and the next 8 after that?

    Barbagallo Track Hire

Not 100% sure on the details as ive yet to book out the track there. Im Thinking at a minimum we would need to have a cams license and a wascc membership?

    Wascc Silver Membership : 300$
    Cams License : 50$ ( aprox )
Track Hire : 100$ Per Hour
Max 4 cars on the track at a time

So if we were to do a half day say from 12:00 to 6:00 we would each need to pay 600$ plus 330$ member ship and 50$ for the license so all up 980$ per person!

This is pretty high so im thinking more along the lines of a 3 hour session per group of 4 cars, so 680$ per person. Still high but it would still be fun.

On another note i think the track hire idea would be to expensive for most of us lol, I think we may actually end up having more fun just going down to the go-karts and all having a bit of competative fun :)

Anyway, for those interested let me know!

I made a post about go-karting in WA some months ago and not a single reply. Up for it any time! Probably going tomorrow. :D

what track you usually go to? ive only been to 1 other one and its in wannaroo, its not the barbagallo race way one but it is an outdoor one, has twin engine karts and they are pretty quick, has more straits too.

I like the indoor Belmont track cause its pretty small but has lots of turns and is defiantly more technical and fun than the longer courses.

I have personally found the go kart place in o'connor much better than the Belmont one

O'connor is the one that I frequent, although they're just 4-strokes they do have faster karts for when you've been there a few times. However last time i'm certain they sabotaged the karts that me and my friend were in by spraying the tyres with WD-40!
Heading there this weekend for certain, need to teach them a lesson :p

    Hey hey,

If karting is your thing I would recommend Belmont, for the simple fact that they have better options for group bookings. The two that would be applicable here would be the Suzuka or LeMans.

    Suzuka - Max 8 drivers. $62 p/person.
    40 mins track time.
    2x 8 lap heats.
    15 lap final.
    Winner takes trophy.

    LeMans - 8 to 18 drivers. $82 p/person for 8 then $74 per additional person
45-75 min track time. Depending on amount of drivers.
If there is more than 8, drivers are divided into 3x 15 lap heats (if i remember correctly)
If there is only 8, then it is 1x 15 lap heat.
    25 lap final.
    Winner takes trophy.

There are some setbacks to this though:
    - You can only use the learner class karts.
    - Its a bit pricy (compared to just going for a normal 30min thrash)
    - The track really isnt all that technical, but its tight and becomes really competitive

Having said this though, O'Connor has its merits.
They are cheaper than Belmont, you get a bit more track time, and the track itself is more technical.

The biggest drawback is the shitty karts, that handle like tugboats, and wouldnt pull the skin off a coffee.
Not all of them are like that though.

The best thing about O'Connor, is the drift track, that can be hired as part of a group function.

Paintball on the other hand... thats more my thing.
Nothing like getting hit by a round, neon-coloured bee sting, right between the shoulder blades.
Really lets you know your alive.
Not trying to scare anyone here.... Its actually really fun.

Im from vic but input on paintball - it hurts enough to make it exciting and get the adrenalin going and not want to get hit again, but not enough that you want to stop playing, it's alot of fun.

Yeh the 9HP karts at O'Connor are a bunch of fun. For those that haven't been there, the longest corner is a big hairpin and the 9hp karts have enough power to keep the karts sideways through the whole thing.

Yes you can go around the whole thing sideways, or with your foot flat to the floor on the accel, but it's bound to be slow :p

some of the karts slow / bog down when you start sliding but when we used the ones at wannaroo they kept up the speed, twin engine ones.

at belmont they have some 13hp ones but only a select few people can use em.

they do the track in 14 seconds as apposed to around 30 seconds from the slower ones.
