relocating fuel filter Thanks Anti, next challenge is to relocate the fuel filter, was looking at the passenger side behind the front guard, I have already fitted there and know looking at running the line under the battery tray.
fuel filter Good idea Anti, more info on exact location would be appreciated? will make running the lines at the fire wall a lot easier.
Fuel Filter Relocation So after looking at both Locations, I thought I would firstly try running it under the passenger side fender and if it was to messy I could always move it to the rear. Here are some pic's, I made up some hard lines to keep it as clean as possible. Supply line to hard line under the battery tray. Supply Line to Filter Filter to Hard Line Final connections in Engine Bay, Once plenum is on I don't link much will be seen. And finally the guard Liner fits back in and hides and protects the whole thing.
Up and Running on E85 A quick update, fuel rails are in and the car is now running. Today I set the fuel regulator to 60psi and played around with the new thermo fan that is attached to the new PWR radiator. Love Haltech made the job easy! so now that's all running I managed to limp it to the servo with the fuel light on. this was planned so I could put the E85 in. After a quick tinker with the injector sizing and injector dead times it's now running on E85, now that the AFR's are close enough I added 5deg of timing thru the positive boost range. All I can say is what the F--- this is now a totally different beast my poor back tyres are not going to last long. Now I have to wait until the 1st of May to get it on the dyno for a proper tune, cannot wait to see the difference. Here is the pic of it all back together. and of course the new PWR radiator and Davie 16" thermo
Sad Day Today So it is a very sad day today, I had the car in for it's tune and dyno run, all was going well we had a couple of runs and we where hitting the 297kw with more room to move but it was running out of fuel, after a couple of checks found out we were dropping serious volts in the higher rev range, so we started doing some final tweeks in the lower power range when the Timing belt let go. here is the end result. Top of Piston One & three havn't looked at the others yet no point.
Turbos Running HKS 2540's we where only at 18psi. E85 rocks. So now I have to build the forged motor. I already have the pistons and rods and some other bits and pieces, block has been on the engine stand for over 12months now, it's been debured, water channel done as well. might try and get it to the machinist before we leave for Europe.
timing belt Timing belt was done about 5k ago, had the timing belt off to put the modified lower plenum on. Belt not broken, either the tensioner let go or I stuffed up something (still the old tensioner. Should of replaced it)
