Throw out bearing, how to...

Stuck again. Need some ideas before I damage my clutch fork assembly. Southbed came with new bearing. But can't pull out old OS giken bearing , Any trick...

 

use a vice or a pice of tube or anything that the cast iron part can go through but stops on the back of the throw out bearing.

then use a hammer and a punch/drift/socket and extension and tap the cast iron carrier through the center of the bearing.

then do the opposite to re install

 

or press it out like you are supposed to.

 

lol i doubt he has access to a press if he's trying to do it with those 4 dollar vise grips

 

Done. used a flat head screw driver to push out evenly all around. Took a while but nothing damaged. Next time I will use a bearing puller.
