RedZedMikey RZM should now be DZM

A little bit more bling in the engine bay!
Replace the stock throttle body bolts with 316 grade stainless steel bolts, supplied with spring washers.
$10.00 per set of 8, plus postage $4.00. Vic members can pick up from me at Tech days etc.

I priced 304 grade stainless; these would be $2 per set cheaper, but I have opted to only get the 316 grade. A couple of members whose opinions I value recommended this as being the better grade. I have also been advised that use of nickel anti-seize is advisable on stainless bolts - this should be available for about $5.00 from most bolt suppliers, alternatively I could also supply it if required.

These kits were US$20 + post to Aussie on TTNET; see the link below:

See pics below for the set of 8; a close up of stainless steel versus stock; and a pic a throttle body with one s/s version and 1 stock fitted on the top. Yeah, I know, I need to get my TB's and plenum polished.

I will be posting up details of the "standard" s/s bolt kit using Aussie sourced components shortly. However I do have all the bits and pieces and can post together if required. Replies here, PM's, and emails are all OK. Phone 0419-582955 if you have any queries.

    Timing cover bolts ...

I've been looking into those, they are what is called a shoulder screw. Not sure if they are available in stainless or not at this point.

Mikey, Timing belt cover bolts in s/s 316 are not available >>

so I had to buy M8 (I think) s/s 316 bolts and then machine the shoulder into them and redo the M6 (I think) thread on them. Took me about 14 hours to do them all and cost about $70 in bolts so really not worth it. If you are doing a engine rebuild or timing belt change then your best option is to remove the timing belt backing covers and retap a M8 thread through the welded on nut so you don't have to use shoulder bolts (just be carefully not to overtighten the bolts or the belt the covers will pull in and hit the timing belt.

By the way I will be selling my timing belt s/s bolts in favour for some alloy ones so if anyone that is really really keen for 316 s/s then PM me. I think I even linished every bolt to polish them up more.
