who said anything about just going fast in a straight line?

you telling me that neither of those two would go well on a track either?

That was jsut an example as to how dominiate the GTR was over the exige.

unless they race around a carpark, I can't see that exige keeping up with that GTR on any track.

nope, can't say i'm into drag and that exige is slower than my zed... must have babied it.

    - you could make a K engine civic go faster in the quarter: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IR2p-yUICC0

    - AND at the track: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ddGKiWrlaNQ

    - put it in a proper lotus chassis it's a weapon: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=mF5E_mxqSs8#t=161s

    - if straight line power was your thing i'd buy a cheap evo 8 and build the engine like in this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=IYaqskg3Wh0#t=118s

even then, all the cars above are 'built' go fast tools, nothing more. R35 is just a big heavy and rather ugly go fast tool, i'd prefer a lighter one is all. not everyone is into R35s, not trying to get a consensus, just getting the point out there for those who asked.

for a road car, i've got my eyes set on a F355 some day. it's fast enough and i love everything else about it.

I'd love a f355 for my next daily. I have to do some research though on maintenance costs etc. But I guess if thats a concern, simply dont buy one.

They are horribly ugly, big and heavy and somewhat boring. Mate's old man bought one of the first ones in the country, recently flogged it off as he didn't really care for it. Putting all the money into an old 635 M race car and various other old BMW's as he finds them more entertaining.

My old evo was hugely fast in the mountains, but it was so easy to drive fast it takes some of the fun out of it. Only time I really enjoyed it was hooning around the back side of Glorious in torrential rain as you had a bit of a fight on your hands and semi-sensible speeds.

355 would be a terrible daily IMO. Great car to have for a weekender, but I think you would get sick of it, not to mention the engine out timing belt services every 15K :p

I'm liking your choice so far, I was never a fan of the cheaper Porsche's as they got the rep of being cheap etc, but you couldn't of said it better straight to the point inside if that's what you like then go for it, also I've heard that also with the Porsche blokes, I think its probably the fear if they smash their 911 also lol I'd say most blokes who buy a 911 cant drive it that well and are well getting on in their years lol at least from what I've seen, glad you enjoyed the Cayman S.

If you love something, set them free. If they come back they're yours; if they don't they never were

I never regretted the crazy cash i threw at my zed.. it was the right thing for me at that point in time

as most of you know i bought her back earlier in the year as i said to the guy who bought it.. IF YOU EVER go to sell her, give me the first right of refusal.. as he was a good mate of mine he obliged

Now... oh my god! she like a mistress that i do all the things i wanted to do to her before, but never had the balls to do

shes lighter, slimmer, faster, angrier and so much more fun

will be at Jacks hill climb Saturday week for another morning of debauchery

There's something about a well modified car that buying off the lot just cant do

I originally sold my zed because i had bought a new 370z when they were first released back in 2009, fast, cushy, comfy she was the no brain choice to jump into and turn on the heated seats for the commute to work on a cold winters morning. poor 300 never got a look in, had to shift two cars, uncover her from her soft fleece blanket, warm it up before pulling out of the garage

now my other car is an SUV and I'm using all of my years of hard earned cash and elbow grease deposited into this car to really enjoy the time spent with her
