We were working on my radiator top pipe (the rubber bit) anyway went to see if the piping was going to hold after finishing so we swithed on the engine.

Hadn't been on for a minute when we heard a loudish pop noise from roughly the radiator then what looked like steam shooting down and floating like a fog.

This struck me as odd because the engine was still cool, (thermo fan wasn't even on so water temp must have been under 85 degrees) and the steam looked more foggy than I imagined it would be. Anyway I turned the engine off imediately thinking a hose had burst. Couldn't find a leak anywhere then when we turned it on later it ran with no issues.

Later that night I noticed that even set to 10 degrees the climate control was just blowing air at me and thats when it clicked...

Is this going to be expensive? (Yea i realise its a dumb question considering we are talking about a z car) Also has anyone else had this happen to them and got any advice?
And finaly is my diagnosis correct?

It may just be the hose

from the compressor to the condenser if your luckly,
best to find out for sure where its leaking, before
    counting the cost.

Sorry to resurrect a year-old thread

but did you ever get this sorted out?

I heard and witnessed the same things right up until my aircon started blowing out warm air.

Was it just a pipe fitting that needed to be done?
