View this morning from my backyard towards Kinglake: They're not rain clouds on the horizon. I'm starting to feel how Roy must have felt last Sunday (although the fires then were a bit closer, like 1km). And what can you say about all the people who have already been displaced, injured or killed? And the Fireys... they are tough guys, yeah!
dandenong smelt like smoke yesterday morning and at night i could see the smoke myst under the road lights
Driving to work last night about 11:30pm and the western horizon looked like the sun had just set, the orange glow from the Grampians was so bright.
Damn fires I was in Canberra when those crazy fires were on a few years ago. Fortunately I was on the north side but the sky was pitch black towards the south, smoke everywhere, all you could see was like 15 helicopters flying in every direction. Felt like we were in a war zone or something
We usually have this every year in the Blue Mountains! Been lucky this year so far! Year before last I sat on the roof till 3 in the morning watering it down and the garden as burning ash fell all around. Anyone heard from Roy. MattB
