Ok so my zeds been parked away in my dads shed for 6 months with no engine. I also have a lot of the interior stripped out as well including the steering wheel. Yesterday I decided to toe it out to give it a wash because it was disgustingly dirty.

When I pulled it out of the shed I didn't bother with the wheel because I was just going in a straight line. But when pushing it back in I thought I'd better put it back on just in case it decided to steer away somewhere.

So I look over on the back seat and WTF, where's my wheel gone? I thought maybe dad had taken it out to keep it safe as he's renovating, so there were lot's of tradesmen coming and going. But a closer inspection revealed that my turbo timer (Blitz DTT) and stereo head unit were also missing in action. :bash:

I have no idea when this stuff went missing. I haven't been in the car for a month. I have to accept partial blame on this because I left it unlocked, stupid of me to think it would be safe in a shed out in the country. Oh well live and learn I suppose. Just a few more $$$ to add to the rebuild.

Geeze that would suck, makes it a bit hard to try to track down where it all went.

Thanks now you have me worried about my car which is sitting unlocked an engine-less in my grandmother's garage. Hopefully potential thieves will hit the xjc first but you've just inspired me to drive over and lock it all up...

Yes for gods sake lock it.

I'm just lucky the pricks didn't realise how much other stuff they could have pinched that was worth money.

The car is now locked and everything that isn't still bolted to it I have taken home with me.

I'm also moving the car to another location next week.

    If I wasn't paranoid before, I am now.

    I feel for you !!
When we had our back yard paved (Council requirement for running this business here), the tradies asked if they could use the shed to keep their equipment in overnight and also use to keep out the sun etc etc.

Two weeks after they left I picked up my sub box to move it, and it was light as a feather. Seems one of the guys went to the trouble to take the grille off the speaker box, remove the kicker 12" sub, and then put the grille back on so it looked all nice and tidy.

I was able to track down the person, but unfortunately they stopped working for that landscaper, so did not turn up at the job when I got there.

The police said that it would be my word against him, so I would have to go to court (and unlikely to win), and they wouldn't give his home address :bash: .

The contractor is responsible for the actions of his employees, and former employees (at the time they were still working for him), so why not advise him that you will advertise this theft(and the company concerned) unless you are reimbursed.
A few well placed signs should do the trick.:bash::zlove::zlove:
