I now have nistune and the licence so i can download my own file to it... where can i get a file to match mine just so i can get to the dyno tune shop?
All the bits I ended up getting, From CZP ARP head and main stud kit JWT 550 turbo?s AMS manifolds AMS 3" SS dumps AMS 3" to 2.5" test pipes resonated JECS 740cc squirts 1.4mm Cometic head gaskets Engine rebuild kit Wiseco 88m pistons and rods, Clevite bearings and water and oil pump Inland empire ally drive shaft Lots of hoses (coolant, vacuum and oil) Hicas Eliminator Starter motor From els where Block 88mm Bore, hone and crack tested Heads re-built with Nissan sleeves and seals Complete NA P/S kit Nistune with licence New painted fiberglass spoiler 2K front bar And I?m just about to do another order from CZP with... 2 O2 sensors Timing Belt idlers and tensioner New crank sprocket DET sensor harness CAS and TPS connectors with leads with the arrival of these new parts I will be putting it back together and I am aiming for it to be running by the 3rd of the 3rd and hopefully join the cruise for Eric.
I'm gathering pieces similar to your build goal. Very interested to know how well the JWT 550BB bolts up to a RHD with the larger exhaust manifolds? Is there any modification to the CZP setup/kit required / Clearance or any fabrication issues? Can I also ask why the substiution from MSP to AMS? Are MSP manifolds still produced/available? Ta - Looking forward to more photo updates
MSP to AMS due to availability I’m pretty sure they still make them, plus I was getting a lot of stuff AMS anyway. I am told you just remove your steering linkage, put the engine in then hook it up again as there is not much space at all. I will be putting it in end of Feb... So I’l vent my frustrations then!
Soooooo I have got the engine in and car going with the run in tune done I only have a few photos on my phone but I will add the others when I get them of the camera. Zilver-z32 I did have to do some changes to the turbo?s, the centre and cold side of the turbo?s were out by a bit, but they are easy to rotate, just remember to re set the waste gate actuators. The biggest hassle was the dump pipe fitment to the RHS turbo... as you can see in this photo the RH dump seems to angle out as if it?s going to touch on the chassis... and it does I had to remove it (after fitting it in the car) and die grinding the holes out to turn it clockwise (a lot). To fit the engine with the dump pipes on you will have to take the steering rod off, i did manage to get it around without taking it off... but it would have been much easier that way. Any way after fitting the engine downloaded the basic tune I had gotten from a friend so it could run. It then went on the car trailer to the dyno for a run in tune. At this point it would stall by itself, blowing smoke and was clearly over fuelling. Turns out the tune I had on it was soo rich, it fouled up the plugs causing misfire etc. also the det sensor has an issue (must be wiring as i put a new one in with new harness) and in general just wasn?t running right all day. At about 4 PM it just started running right, and we don?t know why. Either way I was happy we did 1 pass and it did just over 300RWHP at 4500 rpm. Drove it home (250K's away) without a problem. I have it at the panel beaters now getting the 2k bar, spoiler and touch up paint done. I will have to look for a vac leak, get a new manual boost controller (as its running at around 17psi with it screwed all the way in) fix the det sensor fault, and then I will be back for the proper tune. I will post up more picks of the engine fitment and car after the panel beaters once there done with it.
