    Hi everyone,

    I thought I would just post this up and hopefully help a few people in the future who's z are running hot! Its not anything special but it worked for me so I wanted to share.

    My Z has always run hot since i got it nearly 3 years ago. Would always run between 84ish to 105 and go up and down depending on when my fan kicked in.. I tried put in a larger ASI alloy rad and flushed everything and no change.

    I noted that my viscous fan clutch had "slots" like a davies craig clutch rather than holes like a OEM clutch (for where it bolts on to the crank). My fan was also very loud when it came on (sounded like a truck engine) and sometimes wouldnt come on till 105 degrees...

    I did 2 things and have since had my car running at 75-82 degrees since!

    1. Changed to a working 2nd hand OEM fan clutch with holes instead of the slots.

    2. Soaked my oil cooler in petrol overnight and blasted it out with am air compressor.

    Good luck and Happy zedding! :zlove:

    I would probably suggest to try a new thermostat, water pump and a pressure test of your coolant system as well just for laughs...

    Did you fix the fan sounding like a truck issue with the 2nd hand one? ive currently got this problem but its on since start up.

    Work out if you've got a Davies Craig one. U-shaped slots or O-shaped holes for the bolts.
    U=Davies
    O=stock

    If U then you're stuck with it being loud unless you wanna get a replacement oem unit.

    If O then your fan clutch might be seized, thus constantly on.

    I'm on my phone so cbf typing too much. If you need more clarification lemme know.

    This is correct, is what i meant by "slots" and "holes"!

    Definitely ALOT quieter now! Check if you have slots if your z sounds like a truck haha...If so then grab a second hand working clutch from a forum member, they pop up from time to time for about $30.
