    Looks great dude....

Nice to see another quality Zed on the road. :)

The only thing I would suggest, is to see if you can get that 2000 front bar to sit a little more flush where it meets the front guard. It can take some stuffing around, but worth it in the end...

But the car looks great. What other mods does the engine have?

    I know :(
I took the pic from the wrong side.

the other side is really flush,
but the shop had a lot of trouble with the right side,
I'm not sure if the allignment might still be wrong from when I damaged the front falling into a large water hole.

    Thanks for the compliment,

    The engine is quite stock,
I've always been more focused on creating the look that I want over hp.

apart from the high flows, it should be a fairly stock block, stock cams, heads etc. stock radiator, stock intercoolers.

I also didnt want to do too much that I might be picked on for,
so if I get pulled up, I can say its pretty much a stock Z, apart from being lowered and the matrix rims.

Those studs that come out of the front 1/4 panel that the front bar bolts to may need some slight bending/manipulation to get the fit just right.

Looks good man. What power is it making?

    I'm not sure,

I don''t think its boosting properly yet.
the TT conversion is pretty fresh, so I think there will still be some work to do, making sure the ecu is set up properly and taking it in for a proper tune will be the next big thing needing to be done.

    Thanks Guys,

I might start the list of Gratitude, hopefully I dont miss anybody since its been so long and I lost my old list.

I suppose, first of all, after the whole Brytech Fiasco,
I need to give a big thanks to Wildzx and Lico
despite all the drama I caused, without Wilds offer of help and the work he did on the Z then I probably would still have a broken old na sitting out the front.

Next I need to thank Twin Terror who stepped in and took waynoz from a struggling TT with a ton of issues, to a Z that runs as good as it does now, also fixing all the electrical issues that its had since the day I bought it.

For the Body and Paint, a big thanks to Geelong Custom Auto Restoration who had the Z for 3 months, straightened up the body, welded a few cracks in the radiator support and gave it a decent coat of Nissan Brickyard Red, ending up with a full doors off, hatch off respray (just leaving the bay which can be detailed later)

The following members I want to thank for support, advice and parts, always quick to jump in and try and trouble shoot problems or post parts I needed on the asap.

    Anti
    Pennyarvs
    Martini
    Kawasakirider
    Badxtc
    XKGB
    Sanouske
    Kakaboy
    Badzx
    BlackBeast
    Mr Zed X
    Gmbrezzo
    Lidz
    ABZ
    Bracket

    and last but not least,
A Big thanks to everyone in the Geelong scene who always seem to be in my garage within minutes of me putting out the call

    Kalon
    Caillan &
    Xavier

not in the scene, but deserves recognition

    Sean from North Geelong Autobarn,
fair enough, he only drives a 180, but he's always good for advice on the 300s :p
also Locky from North Geelong Autobarn,

these guys were picking me up and dropping me off from work every day for 2 to 3 months, must have cost them a bit in fuel but they never let me give them money (only McDonalds)

and thanks to my old mate Dave, who lent me his laser for 2 years so I could still get around and drive to uni, until he needed his car back because he racked up too many parking tickets in his girlfriends car.

and I should also thank my Parents, who have lent me money every now and then when I've needed to pay a few things off on the Z.

for help with organising the RWC, thanks to BDS Autocare in North Geelong, I highly recommend these guys for help in that area.

I appreciate how many people have helped out and given support in the last few years since I've owned Waynoz,
if I've missed anyone, I apologize, but for everyone who has helped,
    I can't express enough gratitude.

    Update!

sorry about the pics again everyone,

I was using facebook for image locations, but have switched to photobucket, obviously once I remove them from facebook, they disapear from here.

So, things have progressed pretty well with the rebuild,
I was going through some pics last night from when I first brought the Z, and through to just before the TT install and how it is now.
the Z now looks nothing like what it was but The Brickyard is a good base to start the next design with.

am looking into a decent set of coilovers so I can lower the rear and get a more aggresive ride height happening.
the Wheel choice is Ok, but I will need to look into getting a nice set of 18x9s at least with a wider offset to fill out the gaurds.

Mechanically its improving bit by bit,

once I got it back from Twin Terror with the timing belt corrected and other immediate items fixed, swapping from the chipped ECU to the stock ECU made a big difference in performance.

following that, the next thing was making sure the mechanical timing was correct, and it turned out it was sitting on -10, so changing that to -15 made another big difference in performance, with a little adjusting of the CAS by ear to figure out what was the best position based on how it affected idle.

I know this is all quite basic for most of you but I think i'm getting the hang of basic tuning of the VG.
I've wanted to adjust the IAA for a while now, since it always seemed to sit around 1200 on start up, and anywhere upto 2000 sitting at lights,
so after a quick run out Ceres this morning to warm it up, the IAA screw got turned a few times clockwise which brought the idle down to around the 700 mark, now the Z is almost dead quiet sitting at idle.

apart from the low compression, the engine seems to be doing what it is supposed to, in all honesty I think the turbo's might be a bit past their prime and under performing, but I don't have much to compare them too. but that said sitting in 3rd around the hills still gives easily enough power to play with the corners and dart around slower cars without worrying about having enough time to get past them before the next corner.

lots of things still need fixing, such as:

    replace rear infill
    new suspension
    new windscreen
    retrim
    power steering return hose
    sight brake leak
    noisy timing belt pully
    loose drive shaft linky
    gearbox isnt playing nice.

on that, the gearbox changes beautifully when the car is off,
as soon as its on, it is a real bitch to change from 1st to 2nd.
not sure if this might be more of a clutch issue than a problem with the gearbox?

I don't think there is much else I can do myself to the engine to get it running better. but i think also the next thing on the cards would be to get it road tuned.

Dude don't invest money tuning an engine with bad compression and blown turbos. You have a list of other things that need money.

you dont think a nistune would help much then?

Idealy getting an engine like sim''s would be perfect down the track.

    its running pretty well considering.
your right though, a set of coilovers and a new windscreen would tidy it up a lot for the same money.

It's like putting a running shoe on a broken leg. An expensive shoe that won't fit once your leg heals.

does the shoe shrink after the leg heals or does the foot expand?

    Sorry Anti,
didnt mean to be a smart ass,

I guess it just feels a bit difference when the Shoe is on the Other Foot

so it looks like I'm picking up the Cusco coilovers tomorrow.

since I've had the Z, its always had the same shortened springs on well warn shocks. I've been told that 'I have No Suspension' and it shows.

I'm surprised that the shocks havent given out yet, but I think after 4 years of ownership and many thousands of km's its time to upgrade to something decent.

the Shocks going in are Cusco Zero's, spring rates should be in the medium range so hopefully still ok for road use, but i think anything will be better than my setup at present.

so this leaves most things getting checked off my list.

    TT swap - Done
    New Paint - Done
replacing most of the trimming etc - getting there
    new rims - done
    new rubber - done

the two major things on my list were

fix power steering leak (which I havent had power steering for months now)
    and,
upgrade suspension so I can drive like a Real car.

so with the suspension being taken care of, I just need to get the power steering sorted and I should be handeling like new.

still more little things need to get done,
Its still a long enough list.

    - replace windscreen
    - replace heater core
    - hook up air conditioning again
    - retrim interior
    - new window lining trim
    - replace all door and targa rubber
    - sort out shifting issues or replace shifter

easy could throw another 10k at the Z tomorrow and still need things done. and that's not getting into things like bigger injectors, remapping, or engine mods.

    slowely getting there...
