In the timespan between posts, I've been scanning the FIA website for rules and regs. Seems we are both correct . . . in a cornering situation the defending driver is only allowed to change his racing line once, but in a straight, he can move one way and then the other, once!
Where'd you find that? I was looking too but couldn't find anything on defending position, or overtaking for that matter.
Mate you're a wanker!!! We already know you like nothing except Zeds, so why post at all in this thread? Thanks for your less than 2 cents worth! Some of use actually enjoy V8 Supercars which is afterall the premier racing division in this country. Cheers Geoff
well this wanker used to own a Gen111 VT so i guess i have a right to my less than 2 cents worthwhats so super about V8 "supercars" when they had to make a class exclusively for them so they wouldn't keep getting their asses handed to them on a platter?
The Champ Car rules on blocking are much easier to enforce and make for more passing. If you move off the racing line, then you're blocking. In a modern parity formula and you want to promote passing, its probably the best blocking rule.
Yeah righto then... Just like any other motorsport racing alot of time and effect gets put into them.. So what if its called V8 supercars? they are V8's in car's that are australian owned... Dont matter if you owned a VT gen3 big deal i use to own holdens as well... It was group A racing when the R32 GTR's were racing... and its not the jap GTR either it was the aussie version yep thats right Nissan australia had to sell 100 GTR's to be able to race... Alot of shit goes into them theses days they are all running the same amount of horse power it would eat your little zed alive... Pitty they cannot be driven on the road... Its not like the good old days where it was right off the line roll cage radial tyres and off racing... The V8 supercars bring in alot of $$$ into australia more then any other motorsport... Alone in QLD the teams up there bring in $50,000 Plus a year just in work.... Just remember zed's are not the best car in the world to everyone it maybe to you but to others its not... I may own a zed but who is going to stop me from wanting a dirty big v8 you cannot go past the rumble of them...
Wanna rumble my V8? hehe maybe It brings in alot for QLD tho and brings in alot of work up there so thats a good thing... Wish i could work with a v8 supercar team... Was a good season tho alot of ups and downs.... Cannot wait till next years season starts
strange happenings indeed momma ....!!!!! .. only two of the 3(??) commentators at the time commented that it was their perception that lowndes (now lnowdes ..!! lol..!!) did block kelly .. but what would they know ..?? .. with full access to instant video replays, in car team comment, extensive experience, blah, blah, blah ... simply both idiots .. unlike our own infallibables .... lol... and lowndes did not,of course indulge in deliberate tap, tap, tapping .. a mere figment of the imagination, perhaps ... or just practicing his right, soft shoe shuffle ... aka tap dancing ... .. and then again of, course, today's decision exonerating kelly was all wrong, misconceived, biased .. lah di dah ....
Hey Keza .... Were you playing with Photoshop today???? Apparently someone was . Personally I thought it was a racing incident - this sort of thing happens all the time in the V8's, but the in the context of race 3 and the championship, meant a whole lot more. Shuffle the exact same incident to mid-year and it would have been just another drive through, which is what happened.
Not me Mikey >> But obviously a FORD FAN with photoshop skills. When you have a close look at that, whoever put it together had a sense of humour & was pissed off. Not so much for what happened, but for being cheated out of a very close championship. Only one person knows if it was a racing incident, and he's holding the cup. (at the moment) I think that if you look back at various incidents throughout the year, you will see a great deal of inconsistency with penalties dealt out to one & all. But it is what we have, & so we have to put up with. If it were me weilding the big stick. I would have penalised the team for being unsporting, in the sense of fair play. No one will tell me, that certain drivers were unaware of the rules regarding "Blocking", particularly when the same persons have complained several times over the years for being blocked. In the last race I would have again penalised the team, huge dollars, as has happened in the past to other teams for various offences. And then to top it off, I would have called it a NO RACE & awarded the chamionship as a joint drivers championship. As I have stated mate, I don't think the Walkinshaw Teams (HRT & HSV) have done themselves or the sport any favours & in fact brought it into disrepute. I don't follow one team or the other, or for that matter the makers of the cars. But like so many, feel cheated of a close championship, down to the wire. But, thats my opinion. Cheers Kerry
Don't know what TV broadcast you were watching Baz, but the one I saw had several replays from both cars, and it was perfectly clear that the rear end of Lowndes car jumped sideways immediately upon being nudged by Kelly. The second "tap" sent him into the side of big brother. It is extremely difficult for a driver to indulge in "tap, tap, tapping" from in front of his opponent, but if you are correct, then my admiration for Lowndes' ability has just increased(such skill, kind of like a Boxer bashing his opponents fist, with his face). As for todays decision, anyone who doesn't see the "political expedience" in leaving things as they are, would need a seeing-eye dog AND a white cane. Take the Championship off the biggest, most financial team in the series and run the risk of Walkinshaw spitting his dummy, and going home? Not likely, (he's already done that before. Or don't you remember the Jaguar Team days??) BTW, what is an "infallibable"????(reliably accurate babbling, perhaps?):zlove:
Oh! You mean when Tander was given a Black Flag for bad sportsmanship, silly me, I thought that meant it was HIS fault(he was illegaly blocking, after all).
fords and holdens australian owned????, mate what century do you live in?, they haven't been australian owned companies for decades, the only things that happens here are that the cars are put together, bugger all is made or designed in this country for either car
