I had finished the installation on the weekend and sat down and had a coffee with the bride before I attempted to start it.

Went out to the garage and sat in the seat for a few minutes and turned the key...she cranked normally and after about 5 long seconds the first sound of life came as the fuel hit the injectors.

A little roughness at first and then she came alive much to my relief :zlove:

Oil pressure rose steadily, Hicas light remained on and power light flashing both a little low on oil.

Nevertheless out and under the car to see if there are any leaks ....not a one! Yes

Well I took to the street and she sings like a bird. The underdrive pulley mod is a noticeable improvement in taking off and for some unnknown reason she sounds very throaty. Ive done 200 k in her so far and cant wait till she is run in. Lookout Willowbank Raceway.

I dont know if I could drive the Z that far Johnno...

I am getting on a bit you know. I have hard enough time getting out to Willowbank let alone drive into "cockroach" territory.

They have coppers around every corner and I havent been booked in 30 years and as the bride says "With the Z it wont be long!" ;)

Unfortunately I cant get to the track this Saturday with the team but hopefully the next time. Anyway the engine wouldnt be run in by then and I dont want to stuff it just so I could race.

    regards John
