Here's the thing Cam -

VIC was a bit notorious for the " I'll be there if my Zed is ready " theme.

A lot of the VIC Coming Events threads got spammed with maybes/mights/depends ons.
Attendance lists looked good but you'd be lucky if half of them showed up on the day.
Things might have changed recently but don't be looking at numbers to call it a successful or enjoyable cruise.

Way I see it, any excuse to roadlove my Zed is a good excuse. If no-one else attends, stiff.
At the very least I've put aside some time to enjoy my car on fun roads away from safety cameras :br:

You Melbourne suburban guys, my heart pumps piss for you, it really does. Owning a fantastic sports car
and having to drive it at 50 kph on straight roads is a joke. You get the chance to hit 60, 70, 80 occasionally.
If you're luckyish ( i.e. if you live out in the boon-docks ) you'll be allowed to hit 100 kph, woo hoo, but it's on
straight roads and DON'T DARE exceed the limit.

Cam is organising an event which will let you enjoy your car for what it is. Be there if you can.

If anyone took the above as a challenge, go ahead and prove me wrong by attending the cruise

 

Where is the thanks button? Haha but yeah thanks for that Mick! It is a great excuse to bring your zeds out for a play! If I manage to keep a zed on the road as a daily, still have it for a weekend car and never have it off the road doing "work" to the zed then no excuses to y'all who say "if it's ready"

I want a refind list closer to the day where anyone on the list are the ones coming! This will help in the morning for roll call

It works well for the m/cycle cruises but it doesnt work for cars.....

reason being......

you can "park" a bike anywhere and not interfere with traffic, a car parked on the same spot will take up room and certainly attract the attention of the law-enforcement officers

so now you have to park the car away from the actual corner and the driver has to get out and stand at the corner and frantically wave at those on the run...... fine if every one see's him & someone leather clad standing on a corner stands out far more than say a ZX driver in his cruise comfys ..... so do we add a fluro vest and orange flags

then you have the problem of once tail end charlie arrives they now have to wait for the corner man to get back into his car and get going.....

that stretches the body of cars out.......and thats when seperation can happen.


just sayin..... what works for m/cycles dont mean it works for cars

Thanks kingy.... Yeah I'm probably going to scrap it now... Just trying to think of new ways, really all I need is for the people attending to print of the map and directions and learn them, it's not a technical cruise, so it shouldn't be that hard to memorise....

If you have an extra body in the car, give them the map and they can be your navigation aid...
With the few quick stops I have on the trip should bring the team back together and keep it tight.

Now that we lived through the apocalypse im going to have to follow through with this cruise :/ hahaha

 

Sadly I have some big family comitmitments over most of January, its about the only time of the year I get to see any of my relitaves as they are just about all interstate based, done just over 2000k's so far, a few thousand to go yet ...

so at this stage I'll have to pass.

I was going to bring the bike for a run but the new work rosta is out and I have to work that weekend.
