    OIL CLAIMS

Theres a lot of claims out there, but after you study a lot on oil its very clear the worlds leading independant and government testing authorities acknowledge AMSOIL is the best synthetic oil in the world.
It really does take out most of the awards. The 10-30w synthetic was the worlds first 100% synthetic so I guess theve been doing it for a while and they set the standard for no-knack testing so the engineering credentials are well established

Some out there still disagree and support their footy team colored oils so i dont intend to get into an argument with purple colored people eaters over information freely available, go and google it.
    a start point http://www.oil-tech.com/motoroil-comparison.htm

YEH YEH PURPLE PURPLE PURPLE race oil goes great in pushing it around the lines and you can boost your figures - great oil I agree - but amsoil has the proof and the standards so I prefer to chase it - and they make 10w -30 SAE synthetic Yeh yeh valvoline is molecularly malleable becuase its recycled oil but it doesnt get a higher rating in the standards and SAE tests although it scored well in Diesel tests in Australia, so the facts are the facts regardless of fanclubs or zillion dollar oil company advertising. Castrol GTX yadayada current version no 254 is ok:p but is behind in all tests too

Multigrades have made things easier but also introduced problems in efficiency, wear and friction. So it is obvious that using a seasonal change with a closer winter rating (The w in oil terms - 5w-30w) is better if your season and temperatures allow it. Given temperatures and motors are different theres no point in the argument of w rating as it will be different for each location and 5w is not for me - its for the chilly canberrans.

Its rare to get Winter Ratings so I chucked in a poll

For me 10w -30 is perfect then 10-40/45 w at the season change. Simply put - I'll get the best out of my motor that I can here :zlove:
The extended 28,000 km drain with amsoil appeals to me - it doesnt mean you extend the drain just that the detergents are extremely good at suspending the matter safely and sludge is less likely - oil changes are clear in colour!

    So - http://www.oil-tech.com/api_test.htm

    is the magic stuff!

    Three questions:

Why does it have to be some agent selling oil that is hand fed to us in drip locations like race meets?

Anyone use this regularly, how do you go?

Does anyone know a large distributor that sells it cheaper in NSW?

I know theres an agent selling in SA and QLD - but you shouldnt have to post this stuff across from the other side of the country if you use it regularly - tthe freight charges can hit home.:(

The poll result will be interesting for z owners in particular regardless of location

    Cheers:zlove:
