Testing electric water pump

Hi Guys,

I have an electric water pump sitting around that used to be installed on my N/A.
Just wondering if anyone knows how to test them before I put it up for sale?

Put it in a closed circuit and add power? What are you trying to test, if anything besides function?

 

Yeah I ended up just hooking it up to a battery with an inline switch.

Was just testing functionality.
