NSW Tech weekend - Nov 2nd-3rd

Hi guys,

As many of you may know, I had a little accident in my zed, so I am wanting to host a tech day to help get it back on the road.

The proposed dates will be November 2nd and 3rd, how ever this may change depending on uni.

It will be held at the empty service station across from my house in Baulkham Hills (5 mins from UAS or MRC). There is enough parking for about 20-30 cars, with flat surfaces to have about about 5-10 cars being worked on.

I am going to try to arrange with the owners of the lot to use their hoists in the old workshop. If this happens, there will be 2 hoists for our use

Of course, food and drink will be supplied. There is also a fish n chip shop and a bottleo next door.

The things I need to do are:

• Replace both tension rods
• Replace both front lower control arms
• Replace both front inner tie rods
• Replace both front tie rod ends
• Replace crossmember (I have an engine hoist to support motor)
• Replace brake pads
• Fit drivers front guard
• Modify and dummy front bar (need to modify for FMIC)

I will try to get all the parts prepped and replace bushings in 2nd hand parts before the day, so they are all ready to whack straight in.

Awesome man! I have a few basic tools, but nothing fancy.. The more, the better

You got stands Logan? Ill bring the usual tools I use. You getting the bar painted before hand?

 

Yep i got 4 stands
And no, not painting the bar before hand.

Need to test fit it and cut to size. Don't wanna do that with new paint on there

I have most basic tools, but obviously, if you're wanting to work on your own car, bring some tools

Merindah is a great site...just around from me(Winston Hills). Pity the guys there have moved...good blokes, always helpful. Should be a great day. Just finished having a COMPLETE engine rebuild after 10-months off the road, so will definitely try to make it.

The workshop has moved to the new 7/11 on the corner of Merindah and Seven Hills Road.
Its a shame, as I liked being able to pick their brains, and borrow their tools.

Were you able to get use of the hoists?? Went past this morning and there were 400+ cars parked there!!! Hope it hasn't become a local free-for-all parking site...!!

No, unfortunately there is no hoist access Due to insurance reasons. Bit of a shame, how ever there is still plenty of room.

As for all of the cars, a fair few of them belong to us, the rest, I am going to ask the neighbours if they mind moving them for the weekend. They're all pretty friendly, so shouldn't be a problem.
