Any Tassie zedders interested in a run to Longford for the Longford Revival/Festival,? Say, Sunday 3rd April?
Depart BP Brighton at 0800 for the southern guys and wherever you decide for the northern guys.

A good excuse to check out some historic race cars from the Longford heyday of the 50's and 60's.
Weather is usually still good at that time of year as well.

Plenty of entertainment for the three days and for those walkers and talkers, a chance to do high speed runs down the famed "Longford Mile" which was part of the original race track.
Shannons "Show 'n Shine" and more.

    See here for details:

    http://www.longfordrevival.com.au/LongfordFestival/longfordfestival.html

I know of at least one interstate zedder coming down!
    Anybody interested?

    Cheers
    Evan

Sounds like a great day out

    Hi Evan

Count me in because this sounds like a superb day out. Although, Longford is closer to me, I might try to catch up somewhere along the way to make it a bit of a convoy.

I'll be waiting on the side of the road somewhere, Pete

Is it the bleed valve on top of the MC or the one at the end of that metal "pipe to nowhere"?
If is the MS, then youll just have to R&R the MC and have that fixed. An hours work to R&R plus fix an ANY brake shop.

If its the one on the end of that confounded "pipe to nowhere" you have 2 options.
1: remove the idiotic hard pipe from the metal "Tee" and blank it off with a hose blanking bung.
    Or:
Just just pull the entire setup out from MS to slave and have Lance at Cablemate make you a nice and shiney braided hose to run from MC to SC! Prolly around 80 clams more or less and your done M8!
Give me a yell if you want a hand. Netime dude.

    Jono, bummer M8 but happens!

Will not be able to make it

    Hi Evan

I'll not be able to make the Longford revival (at this stage) because I still need to put some weekend time into my Zed. I've ripped the interior out to recover it and it's taking a lot longer than I thought.

Thanks for organising the run to the revival but I'll need to give it a miss as I'm sick of looking at my incomplete interior and want to get it finished.

    Cheers, Pete

I would love to get to Longford because it was so cool to see the revival after reading about the races and pictures of the older open seaters back when it was on the racing calendar. I remember taking some photos (which I've since lost) of the Shell oil signage on the bridge supports. As I looked around at how the race track curved under the bridge and between the supports I though how the hell did they race in those open seaters at high speed and not smash into the bridge supports. It just goes to show how talented the drivers were.

The chequered inn Pub is a favourite stopping point on the way home from Launceston for dinner or just a quick refreshing drink.

Hence, it would be great to go along. I may still make a day trip in My Honda daily but I'm just not sure what day it will be (Sat or Sun).

    Cheers, Evan.

    Awesome pete
    See what you can do.
If you like, to save some face and dignity, bring the shopping trolley up to Trevallyn, leave it at my M8's place and you can come down in the white NA shitter with me!!! At least SOME street cred!!! LMAO!
Ive even fitted new tyres for the occasion!
Id be happy to run you back to Inceston to collect your wheels when we are done.

We're coming over on the wednesday night boat, I gather we get 1 trial run on friday and 3 runs on both saturday and sunday. The car has to be in the display paddock all day those days too so I'll be within walking distance to the track all day over those 3 days, hopefully I'll be able to catch up with a few people while I'm down there.
