Hey all, was just wondering can anyone tell me what those things are on roof under targas just after the windscreen, they look like wind deflector or something ? Can they be permantely removed?

Yes, they are a wind deflector. Yep, they can be removed. Don't make a massive difference. I believe they were removed in the later model zeds.

Why would you want to remove them?

Nah seriously though, they were all broken, so they were not doing there job. But on second thoughts ..... I think I would prefer a bug/s in the eye then have them, because they just look crap and ugly. I better wear glasses eh chili ?:D.

Just pull them off. I did a test and if you hold them down when the targas are off there is actually LESS turbulance in the car.

Jenny's hair is way less blown when you hold them down.

Try it and you will agree.

I wanna know WTF they where thinking when they put them on the car.

Remember to put some stainless screws back in the bolt holes if you pull them off

Might seem obvious, but if they are stuck down, just spray a little WD40 on the hinge and work back and forward.

One of mine just fell to pieces and it does look better without them. A lot more modern.

Yeah, get rid of them(we all know that the Japs know absolutely nothing about how to build cars, don't we)?:p:p:rofl::rofl::rofl:

Might be a good time to get those ugly windscreen wiper arms out of the equation as well?;):zlove:

Coz doesn't sell them, I couldn't find them anywhere and I already did throw the ugly windscreen wiper arms out and used new ones from the recent sale here on the forum. :p

Come on mate, we both know there's a difference between something used for safety and something to keep your hair intact. :D

    Fate, says "Gday Chillster."

    G'day Fate old mate.:zlove:
As for keeping hair intact, the only stuff I have left is on the back of my head, so not really an issue(unless I travel backwards).:rofl::rofl:

the plastic tends to split on the pivot section, happened to mine, very hard to find replacements, only ones I have seen were second hand ones on US ebay, which were like 100+

maybe some one with some plastic manufacturing contacts could get a plastic replacement made up.

if the pressed steel parts were removed which holds the stock plastic on, we would just need a plastic piece molded to match the size of the zed's standard one, with 2 small plastic push through clips molded to go through the holes, or even just just a solid plastic mold the same size, and then drill 2 holes in the molded plastic, and use a small bolt and nut to secure.

Cosmin seems to be able to get his little yankee paws on alot more than what he has on his website -- If they are still manufactured he can still get them.
