Got hit by the mini flash floods and while driving through some rather deep water (caught off guard) I got a bit of water up in the bonnet I think.

Got a decent splash guard on the bottom, but didnt seem to help in this case.

The noise is best described like the sound of skateboard wheels running on rough concrete. It does not get louder/ fast with engine revs, just a constant whiir.

No bent blades on the clutch fan (my first concern and check).
Its not the thermo fan (Ive got a switch).

Any suggestions on what I can check next, thanks all.

Could be the air con tensor.

Remove the belt and see if it goes away.

you must have picked up some small pebbles when that water washed up through the engine bay and behind the front bar.

stuff can get caught in the front bumper cavity or any cavity in the engine bay area or under body of the car and rattle around.
