so simple question really, whats size single turbo is equivelent to the stock TT turbos, in compressor side? in short, rb30et run off a VG30dett ecu. so i would like to get the closest to stock if not the bigger side, i assume rb25 turbo is smaller? and the stock VG30det turbo is the same but larger rear. what about say gt3071 or something? i have no idea really, appreciate you guys help. Ryan
If replacing the twins with a single both compressor and exhaust side come into play . need at least 600+cfm of turbo .. GT3071r is just under 700cfm with .86a/r this is a good balanced turbo and will spool fast than gt2871r .86a/r which is around 650cfm)
so.. just learning here ( used to rotarys) for the Vg30dett - is an A/R from 0.68 and up suitable for a street turbo.. 3000rpm - 6000rpm and similar, does that change for twins ie 0.68 rear housing becuase of the 3.0? thx
The new GTX30R is a killer turbo but to answer the question I would research the air flow capacity of two standard turbos and then compare that figure with what is available in the single turbo range. Actually no I would not bother, if you want wheel spinning torque around town go for the GTX3582R which will do you an easy 400whp on a stock donk with virtually no lag.
Actually, from what i've read. Fair few of those GTX turbos were an epic failure causing more lag and needing more boost to make the same power. Quite a few threads on SAU about it.
Wasn't saying you were wrong or anything, just not everyone has had the best experience with them. You running the GTX3071 or the 76? what power have you made on it? very interested
This is good and well but I'm running a stock ecu on a stock rb30, with stock injectors, do I only need stock equivelent, I think I'll go a 3071, thanks guys.
Go on ebay and order a Kinugawa/ Kando Dynamics TD06-20G. Be way cheaper then a 3071 and will perform very similarly. Huge thread on kando turbos on SAU.
