OEM is the way to go. A lot of cheap oil filters out there (Fram, etc) have a habit of coming apart or getting clogged. It's not something you want in a sports car. OEM is proven to be reliable.

There is debate over whether the old style (60U) filters were any better than the new style (55Y) filters but, to my knowledge, nobody has put them to the test in a comparison. Either way, good luck finding anymore 60U filters. Most places ran out of them a long time ago and only sell the 55Y filters anyway. They took the place and are the new OEM filters for the Z32.

Most people here I've seen just use Ryco filters (Z145A) which seem to work fine

second that motion ... have been using RYCO (Z145A) for 6 years without issue on a 5-7,000kms replacement cycle .....

the way to go is to wait for S/crap to have one of their 20% discount "across the store" sales and buy a heap of filters ...

    re oil filters

i use the nissan oil filter. have read in some article a while back that they are an excellent filter as stacked up against most others, and for around 18 bucks you cant go wrong.
