It's really dissapointing. Once apon a time this type of tool would have beenlion food, now they are a protected species and encouraged to breed. It's a sad state overall!
Sit back, take a deep breath and let it go Matt. Clearly you have emotional attachment to the car from all the hard work you put into it, but from the time he gave you the cheque I'm afraid he can do what he wants.......which includes trashing it or using it as a boat anchor. You need to take your mind off it by focusing on the next master piece.....bigger, better, blacker and faster
LOL @ THIS! Did he say that or are you guessing? I can safely say with 100% clarity the entire time i owned the car the seatbelts were mounted on the pillar NOT the door. Its a 93 J-spec. They have never been mounted on the door for the record.
Hang in there matt. Won't be long before you get the itch, and we see you on here spruking you have a new Zed and the plans you have for it. Looking forward to the day.
I never saw the stealth zed in the flesh, and due to my absence i didnt even realise it was being sold. Sorry for your loss man, but theres nothing that can be done. In my opinion, this dick has misrepresented Zeds. It would be the nicest thing to do to put the poor stealth Zed out of its misery. Late night torching, theft, anything to take it off this guy and either fix it bit by bit, or erase it from the public eye.
hehe! I think more than anything im embarrassed. I had the zed in immaculate condition when i let it go and it was a reflection of my work. So if you see it out and about in poor conditiong its not my fault!!!! Anyway, onward and upward!!
Umm, you do realise that someone reading that post would assume you're of no more care than the new owner of Matts car. I read and understand where you're coming from so no harm done. But yeah...calling the new owner a dick and his so called misrepresentation of what the Zed community and Zed owning is all about. Doesnt mean he should have his car torched. How olds the bloke? He may just not have a single clue about cars or a sense of awareness when it comes to vehicles in general. Yeah ok, hes owned it for not that long and its already trashed....but i can only imagine if it were a Holden, ford, toyota, etc. He would be just as harsh on it as he is the Zed. Yes its a shame, but hell, give him a tiny bit of credit....he obviously knows (or at least can see) what the Zed has to offer. Classic 90s style, charm, small amounts of indecent exposure Anyways, just sayin.... :zlove:
Sad to hear man I always enjoyed checking your build thread on the forum ...hopefully this guy smartens up a bit, joins the forum and starts treating the car with the respect it deserves :zlove:
Yeah Hang in there mate, take it from someone that knows. You will get another one, hell I didn't even last a month. hate to think of what has become of sparkles but not my problem now. Someone got a good car but my next will be better :zlove:
Ahhh man, must make you feel a little violated. Shame these cars never kept some sort of value like the TT Supra's. Too cheap and their reputation is getting tarnished..
Probably dud to there being no fast and the furious movie franchise made about a 10 second Z. But your right though. I beg the question, how many of the tt supras were made. Obviously far less than the Z?
I just answered this in another thread re zed value. I don't think they're gonna go up anytime soon due to the large amount manufactured. Other things like the Supra and NSX were thrown in for comparison and you realise how long we need to wait before the herd has thinned out enough. http://www.aus300zx.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1177835&postcount=32
Real shame to hear It sucks that so many people dont care about there cars especially if they were to get one as nice as yours.
Thanks for the link. I haven't actually read all through it before. So i guess the next option is to start buying the lesser valued zeds and strip them for there good bits. But destroy the rest of it. Feels so wrong though. I hate that feeling of removing apart of the car. It's like an arm from a person. I prefer restoration. But it seems this is not the case should we want to increase the resale value of them. Hrm. Tricky. Again many thanks for the link. Ps I also envy you being in japan ATM.
Hey Matt, I'm the guy that lives near him. I am making an offer on the car as one of my best mate's is friends with him, and promise that if I buy it, it will receive more loving than my missus :zlove: I heard that since the purchase the front bar and passenger door have received some damage, but I had a look at it on Tuesday night, and it appears the damage has been fixed. RoryZ is definitely a top bloke, rides in his zed sparked my want for one, even though I'll have to wait 2.5 years until you guys will see the build thread for me TTing it (red P's) Reckon you'd be able to pm me his mobile so I can see if I can take it off his hands? Would be greatly appreciated. Cheers. :br:
