Heyas,       Am looking at buying a Queensland members Z, but have been told that compliance standards are different in different states. Am in NSW and am wondering if any work will need to be done to the Z to get it registered. Its a '91 2 seater. Have contacted the RTA, but they sent me a file that wouldn't open. Thanks, Teg.

legislation, therefore, it is highly unlikely that requirements would differ from State to State.
There may be different registration requirements, but compliancing is governed by the ADR's.Cheers

i have a show CL chrysler that i had reg in QLD.i made an engine swap that didnt need to be ticketed in QLD as the motor was a standed option in the car ,but now i have moved to WA it has to have an engineers certificate and a few other thing done to make it roadworthy in the west so go figure:N(

    ADR's are national.

ADR's are a national compliance system, whereas modified vehicles are covered by state santioned signatories (auto engineers). An imported and complianced car is the same as a brand new falcon/commodore, it has a compliance plate.Whereas, different states have different laws for modified vehicles.

What are we talking about here?

Compliance as in the compliance performed when a grey import enters the country, or just roadworthiness? If the former, then yes it does differ from state to state.Ben

    the former

Heya,      Yes, the former, when the grey import actually enters the country. I know the standards are lower in WA, but they are tightening them up to catch up with other states. Just don't want any nasty surprises when I go to get it registered : ). Thanks.
