ok, so drove home from work today it's maybe 10 - 15 minute drive so not real far, went inside for about 15 minutes, came back out and drove to local shops less than 5 minutes away, came back out a few minutes later went to start the car and it didn't start properly.
It tried to start coughed and stopped, tried again could hear it try and start but didn't turn over, tried a few more times over about the next 10 minutes.
I could hear the fuel pump buzz the regulator read about the normal fuel psi, aftermarket temp gauges read in normal temp range, tried to start again this time it coughed almost started, next time it started fine.
Drove home and parked it, and have stopped and started it a few times since and starts fine.
Could it be the starter motor and it just hit a spot it didn't like and wouldn't kick over or any ideas on what else it might be?

When my stater hits a spot it doesn't like it still spins. Probably not ya starter

i probably didn't explain it that well but that is pretty much what it was doing, turn the key hear the starter whir ( or whatever you say it sounds like) but nothing else, no other engine sounds

Might be the starter then. Could also be loose so just check the two bolts that hold it in place. Otherwise if it happens again could put it in gear and rock the car or if ya on a slope out it in gear and let it roll till it catches. Should start after that. Is it a oem starter?
