Yep, I did that too. Although, mine measured at closer to 47mm than 46mm, but still tapered it to port match when installing. ...also i'd like to mention that with my AMS 3" dumps i had to grind down the divider a tad too as they were fouling by about 1.0-1.5mm.
if you're serious, im serious. Ill do it. same car, same dyno same day, just the fitting time in between
Well clearly no one wants to step up and do back to back tests on their own car and this pure guessing work is driving me nuts. Yea I made the decision to go bell mouth but doesn't mean that there isn't a nagging little voice in the back of my mind telling me 'hrm... maybe the split pipe theory is really superior'. MoulaZX
the theory is superior, but practice can be different. Im willing to provide the car, labour and cover the cost of dyno time for testing, just need a set of split dumps
Just do a dump swap test only. ...As in, no other connected exhaust components for both tests. Easy, and mainly, consistant.
it will be too loud to run with no exhasut connected. dont want those exhasut gasses melting anything under there, either.
Not an issue. I've had dyno's done before with only the dumps connected for exhaust flow testing purposes (using dumps like the NPower & AMS ones which aim downwards of course). And Mechanic shops equip'd with dyno's in commercial or industrial areas won't have any noise issues during business hours.
You could use mine for a day Nial I fried the clutch on the weekend so wont be needing them for a while. Not sure I feel like pulling them off though only just got the f*ckers on!
ideally we need someone who hasnt fitted them yet. taking them on and off is a pain. let me know what way u are going with the clutch mate, ur probably just saving up for now though. lol
