OK by setting S2 to 'D' during initial setup, the speedo is now showing a speed. However, this is without LK3-5 having any setting. Beyond this, nothing I do changes the speed. Continuing to follow the instructions, no matter what I do there is no change in the speed value :s

    I'll have another go later.

I am reasonably sure if you change the r10 resistor, you will get the correct output to the ecu and odo.

+1, i'm pretty sure this is the same reason that when your speedo f*cks up, your power steering screws up.

Well it can't be the yellow/black wire... I had it to a point where it was displaying the unadjusted speed (in the middle of the setup process :S) and when I disconnected the output wire (no connection to the dash then) it was still displaying the speed! Perhaps I need to intercept the other wire from the speedo?

If still no luck I may have to try changing he resistor next weekend...

When I did the diff gear change in my commodore a few years ago I used the same jaycar kit. No amount of messing around got it working, turns out there was a link soldered in on the instruction sheet that shouldn't have been there, I swapped the kit over with another, out of the half dozen or so kits they had anly 2 had the correct instructions. No I don't remember which link and even removing it from the first one I built didn't work, I assume something fried from it not being correct. Even then it was a half arsed contraption that took days to get it working properly. There was some good info on silicon chip anoutthis kit.
