Hi everyone, Has anyone actually purchased and installed the SpeedHut gauges? If so, what are they like, accurate, reliable, good quality? I'm curious, as I'm still on the search for a good set of gauges that are not Defi (as I cannot afford them, if I could I would already have them ). Thanks.
Here is an example of a custom gauge I mocked up. I hope you don't "Loud & Proud" that I used you for inspiration: [/IMG]
Yeah myself and I think Jinxed bought these a while back. I've only tried to wire up my fuel gauge so far and have had nothing but problems. I'm not sure if it's the gauges fault though. It just wanders all over the place, is affected by rpm, I don't trust it as far as I can throw it right now. Just haven't had time to look into it further unfortunantly. Other than my problems (again might not be the gauges fault) the quality looks great, customisation is excellent. They are very easy to read. The manufacturers have also been very helpful thus far with my problem even though it remains unresolved. I also have heard that a customer was unhappy with their color selection etc and speedhut changed it for them free of charge. I intend to buy more from them in the future. Just one more thing I will mention. I bought the 2-5/8 size assuming it was 60mm (because 2-1/6 is 52mm) but turned out to be quite a bit larger and wouldn't easily fit in the stock fuel/water locations. Ben
yeah i was about to post up that we had them lol.... agree quality looks fantastic, but i havent had a chance to get mine in and running yet so not sure if they work or not lol!!! not good youv ehad problems though dude, doesnt exactly fill me with confidence lets put it that way!
JetPower "Loud&Proud" Me... Hi there JetPower, Niiice! Now, that is some inspiration. Yes, I created some 'mock-ups' myself and they did indeed look the goods. They appear the right price for what they are advertising, just cannot seem to get any full reviews on actual operation and reliability (except for Ascension below - not good!) or longevity... Plus, with the USD going the 'right' way, just might be the thing to pursue.
Ascension - SpeedHut Fuel Gauge Issue Hi there Ascension, I'm no specialist, but it would appear this may be a 'ground' fault issue - particularly due to the variance with RPM and so on?? Do you have a picture(s) you might like to share up close and various angles of the gauge? That would be great, Thanks. Good luck with you wiring mate.
I'll get some pics up no worries, and yeah I just think it's a wiring issue as you say, but I just need the time to go over it all again. I made the job difficult by trying to intigrate it all into the factory locations and factory wiring, and now i've just had to go back and re-do everything trying to eliminate the problem. I've had the water temp gauge wired in but using the factory temp sender, so the calibration range was way out, but apart from this the movment was nice and linear but just reading too high. So with correct sender it should be all sweet. There's just something going on the the signal from the fuel sender or a ground issue with the fuel gauge. As I said before, I will not hesitate to buy more of these gauges in the future Ben
