Had this crank nitrided, plugged and balanced by Crankshaft Engineering, Brisbane, for a race engine but the builder didn't clean out the block properly so some metal went through the engine, only ran for less then an hour. Metal was noticed when the oil was changed. Visally the three front main journals show faint scoring around the circumference while all the big ends are fine. I only have calipers to measure with, they showed the mains to be 63mm, the big ends 50mm. There is a very small difference between the good rear main and the front three but not enough to measure using calipers. I would think that the crank is reuseable as is but that's up to any buyer, I've described it as best I can. Inspections and pick up at 4054 good. PM or email r_greenup@yahoo.com
Why didnt you reuse it? It will need rebalancing again anyway unless the same pistons, conrods etc are used
Yep, know the story about your woes with engine rebuilder. $400 for an anchor seems a bit on the top side to me. Have it reground and rebalanced for stock internals and the "price is right" for forum members
Use as is or dump are the options for me, until it's measured precisely it's hard to say if it's serviceable as is. It was such a nice crank that dumping it seems a bit of a waste
