.....:) Good news.:) I have been able to arrange a special (Forum) deal with ACPT, the leading Carbon Fibre product manufacturer in the US, for the purchase of Carbon Fibre single piece Drive shafts for the Z32 in a group buy.:) The MINIMUM number in the group buy is an order of 6.:) The normal price per shaft is AUD$1,770.00 including shipping to your door.:) The special group buy price is:-

****AUD$1,420.00**** to your door.:) Including GST.

You can order and pay for your drive shaft over FOUR (4) months:):) An initial deposit of AUD$420.00 is required before the end of November 2006. With the remaining AUD$1,000.00 payable in monthly installments of AUD$250.00 until the end of March 2007:) You can of course pay for your shaft earlier for an earlier delivery.:) For more information on these drive shafts go to our website

So this will finish at the eng of november I'm guessing, and you have to pay the total $1400 before they get delivered?

I am interested, as the monthy installments would lessen the blow.

    Hi Paul

Ah I new it was a good idea to wait after I recieved your email a few months back. What is the main benefits of the CF tailshaft versus the standard 1 peice remakes floating around. Side note can you get standard one peice in steel.

I know they are up to 50% lighter etc and rated at a ridiculous HP but what else to justify the increased cost.

Sorry mate to put you on the spot:D :D

    Cheers

    What a wise.........

....man you are mate:D These babies are not for everyone because of the price obviously.:( BUT all the benefits you mentioned plus more are all shown on our website and the ACPT website link:) To get right down to it the bottom line would be HP gain, lightness, more speed, and SAFETY.:) Safety because in the event of a Uni-joint failure, the shaft will not flip your car, at the worst the shaft will just disintegrate on impact.:) I was actually not really sure that ACPT would agree to this deal. BUT, they did, and it is on for those that want one.:)

    Sounds good to me!

I was going to get a steel single piece, for about $700
but at this price, I will spend the little extra and go the carbon fibre

My main motivation is weight savings which is supposed to give the benefit of 5% more power!

Plus if I'm going lightweight underdrive pulley, superlightweight flywheel, then I should also go the lightweight driveshaft :D

Paul how much does it weigh?

    The figures.....

    ....from ACPT are:- The 2 seater = 4k's AND the 2+2 = 5.2k's (approximately).:)

    that sounds pretty good...

my housemate has a single piece driveshaft sitting in our lounge room, it weighs 8kg for the 2+2 and i believe that stock weighs (runs off to weigh it) 14kg (pretty accurate with bathroom digital scales)

    Hi Col.......

......:) thanks for your interest.:) It looks like we now have 5 comitted to the deal, and we need just one more to make 6.;) There is no deposit required until the end of November, so that should be plenty of time to have one more join us.

If I pay now, when can I get the item?

I'm not sure where I'll be late this year, so I'd like to do all of this now if possible.

    Hi Vincent.........

......:) thanks for your enquiry.:) No sense in paying up front now for it unless you really need to, ACPT will not take just one order.:( They need the minimum of 6 deposits or full payments to give us these prices. :) If you did not want to pay on the installment plan, you could pay the full price just before the end of November, or now, and I can send your full payment in with the other deposits.:) The minimum time it takes for a shaft to get to you would be at least 6 weeks. Hope that is all as clear as mud?::rolleyes:

    Will this be???.......

an ongoing GB offer to the forum???......i.e. everytime 6 members are interested will we still be able to get a great price & pay in installments???......or is this a once only deal????

    I hope not.......

.....:) This is the first deal with ACPT and on its success I plan to arrange others with them.;) Although that has not been discussed, I am sure they will appreciate the ongoing business.

    Do you have fitting instructions?

Im tempted just want to know a bit more about it first in terms of fitting.

My other question is, if I do the deposit then pay off in a few bigger chunks down the track would I be able to get it earlier?
