will these be OK in a VG30dett?
know the gap is a bit too big, but is the .4mm going to make that big a difference.
got 5 of them for free, if they'll work fine I'll get the 1 extra, if not I'll just have to get some more

Those plugs are a tapered seat and not suitable for a VG30.

hi i think you would be a lot better off using the ngk platitium plugs the work better and last 100,000klm i think they are pfr6b-11 i have a 90 model 300zx twin turbo and i would nt use anything else. regards lou

The gap is supposed to be .9mm for the vg30dett right?

Those platinum pfr6b11s are 1.1mm (too big).

What plugs are people running in their TTs?

I have ngk coppers bfr-something, i forgot and the pack is at home. Prefer to run coppers atm til i get him running right as i'd rather ruin $20 plugs instead of $120.

Ask for fairlady z plugs (not 300zx) at autobarn/supercheap with .9mm gap and they will do fine.

1.1 is fine. I ran 1.1mm iridiums BKR6EIX-11 in my TT @ 12psi the idea is with the amount of work changing the plugs in a vg30dett with strut braces ect that iridiums will last longer. Anything over 12psi I'd look at gapping down to 9mm.

BCPR6ES11 is the correct copper plug to use. Gapped at 1.1 for a relatively stock engine, or even down to 0.8 for a fairly boosted car.

Thanks mate, ducked out in my lunch break and got a set. Not prepared to spend a lot on spark plugs till I get my car tuned.

i use a 0.8 gap on any zed, most have some mods at this stage and the coil packs are aging. BCPR6ES are the go in that case

Cant argue with you mate. You're the pro :bow2:

Mine is on stock boost and i dont mind the coppers. Would a lesser gap than 1.1mm help relieve a bit of stress on the associated electricals? What would you recommend?

I use Bosch platinum internal electrode spark plugs. Gap is preset & cannot be adjusted & they last 100,000 Klms. Never have I had trouble with them in race engines or in my 300ZXTT.

I was using platinums but i went back to ngk coppers and heaps better take off quicker response of the throttle

My zed's got a beautifully stock engine except for a pair of hi flowed turbos. I'm generally running around 10-12psi as an everyday driver with that burst of 14-ish psi every now and then. I've regapped my plugs at 1.1 and have experienced hesitation since then. Would regapping them to 0.9 address the problem?
