    I'll post up a more informative thread when she's ready as I'm still having a couple of things checked out and fixed or quoted before I let her go, as I want this to be the most transparent and honest for sale thread ever seen lol.

    But I just wanted to get something up in case there are some interested parties.

    Will also post up more up to date pics when ready but car hasn't really changed on the outside. Maybe a few more stone chips now.

    Quick detials for those that dont know.
    • 300ZX 2+2 Manual TT
    • Gun Metal Grey
    • ABFlug Front bar, VS Side Skirts and Rear Bar
    • 17inch Rims with Nexen 245's all round. Fronts may need replacing soon and I'd recommend going 235's or even 225's.
    • Slotted disks front and back
    • T28 Turbos MAYBE (to be confirmed... im having this checked out soon so we all know once and for all, and this will affect the final price)
    • MP3 compatible JVC head unit
    • brand new no maint battery
    • S2 PTU
    • O2 sensors replaced last year.
    • Just over 160K on the clock but engine about 40K younger (swapped by last owner)
    • FMIC
    • POD
    • 2.5" Cat back (Centre muffler has been replaced with straight 2.5" pipe due to hole in the centre muffler)
    • Passenger side Steering Rack and recently replaced to fix some steering slop
    • 100K service done by previose owner with reciepts which I have
    • Will have brand new seat covers as leather is 20 years old and showing it
    • Boost Gauge
    • AMS Water Temp Gauge (Currently has issues)
    • Targa and window rubber seals replaced last year to fix BAD leak during rain
    • Replaced that little fuel hose on top of the engine as original leaked
    • Original Z floor mats front and back
    • Carpet in AWSOME condition
    • Engine Temp Watchdog (Not wired up)
    • Engine Temp Warning device (installed by last owner, not sure if it works or is wired to any sender)
    • Momo Course steering wheel
    • 182 rwkw as of just before Christmas (after carbon clean with PZP)
    • 14.020 1/4 mile

    Stuff I'm getting checked out pre-sale are the following
    • Burning oil/Smoke from driver side exhaust (Getting a leak down test and issue diagnosis. Depending on the cause I will either pay to fix or adjust the sale price and post the issue in the FS add.)
    • Clunk after releasing parking break (It's nothing dangerouse as its been like it the whole time, but I want to be able to tell people WHAT it is)
    • Getting someone to check and tell me what Turbos its got. I was told T28's but the housing is stock, so the manifold has to come off to see what is inside. The outcome of this will be posted and affect final price.

    Stuff to be aware of (I REALLY dont want people waisting thier time so would rather put it all out there)
    • Leather really is old and shit, hence I'll put some new covers on for ya
    • Aircon doesn't work (Have been told it just needs a regas by last owner. I dont know to behonest, I just take the roof off)
    • Heater doesn't work (Suspect heater core bypassed)
    • She still pulls a bit to the left. Either new springs OR adjustable castor/cambre kit will fix this
    • Boost comes on late due to boost leaks
    • stone chips on front bar and side skirts
    • Control pods dont click in place properly for some reason, hence secured with tape
    • Targa's are black, not Gun Metal Grey
    • Rear bushes inc sub frame will need replacing. Still drivable of course, but recommend doing them when doing other work in the area
    • Boot latch/fuel cap lever is tricky to use
    • Boost gauge install on dash isn't thje prettyest as I was going to put in a new 350Z style 3 pod holder. Will now be saving this for my next car.
    • HICAS doesn't work due to Aftermarket Steeringwheel Boss Kit
    • Door shut light almost always on, hence I keep the interior light turned off so not to drain the battery. Possibly bad earth or boot latch related.
    • Targa shades missing
    • Passenger side wing mirror on an angle. Think one of the bolts inside is bent.

    Despite the above long and picky list, one thing speaks for itself. I've been using this car for work and play for over a year after initially buying it just for a weekend toy.
    Apart from when the O2 sensors needed replacing, and when I bodged an oil change and blew the Eng Cont fuse, the Engine has not let me down. I've had no coolent leaks. No oil leaks (external, as said, will be checking where the internal leak causing the burning is) and no signs of internal mixing. Never looses coolent. The Compression results weren't the best out there but are far from being the worst. (120 was the lowest from memory), and I will be getting a full leak down test done prior to sale.

    In the past when I was looking at cars for sale, I'd do a search for ALL posts by the user selling to see what issues he's really had. I'd recommend anyone who hasn't followed my quest do the same to me, and feel free to ask questions on any point, either in this thread or in PM.

    Reason for sale
    As most will know, I purchased this car from Brissy "unseen" and from the day I took ownership in Perth and sat in it for the first time, we've never ever gelled. I'm fussy and I wasn't happy with my purchase.

    I was going to put in the time and money to bring her up to scratch (mostly the interior brings me down, as well as the boost leaks) but.....

    I sat in my Mates Zed on the weekend while we worked on it, and I'm in love with his car. It's a 2 Seater so the kids will have to walk, but I know I want his car, and he's selling. Selling mine and buying his will potentially cost me more $$$ than just fixing mine but that's not my logic here. I feel a connection with his car I have never felt with mine. (so call me mad)

    If he bails out, I may add even more money and go for a 350Z when the price drops once the 370z comes out........or take out a loan of a life time and get the 370Z lol. We'll see. but at the moment, its the black 2 Seater with all the work done I'm seeing in my future.

    Summery
    This is an advanced warning thread. As said, couple of things to checkout/fix prior to sale but need to post this to make the sale real in my own mind i guess.

    Will be looking for around the $12K mark and this will swing depending on the outcome of the things im getting checked out.

    Will post more up to date pics and info at a later date.

    sorry... 1989. Think I forgot to post that.

    Oh and 1 more thing on the things to note list. While the clutch is 100% fine for daily driving, or rolling starts even, if you're into drag racing I'd recommend replacing it.

    Let's start with 12,000 dollars being pretty much the pinnacle for an immaculate 89, TT.

    What would you estimate, given all the things that need fixing (boost leaks, broken pods, broken mirror, 'needs new subframe', broken air con, broken heater, new tyres, new leather interior, and possible oil leak(s), it would cost a workshop to repair.

    From personal experience, i've seen many a member struggle to sell theirs for 12 grand. Some bloody brilliant examples go for 15ish rarely, but not many.
    Whether i'm in the market for one will be a matter for discussion later down the track, though at this point in time no (and also at this point in time you're not selling so that works for both of us). I'd say it's for the benefit of others more so.

    Just wish the seller had been as open and honest as I am when I purchased the car not much more than a year ago.

    Dont forget, I paid $15K for this + $2K trans.

    As soon as i got it i knew it was only worth $12K, and its in better nick now than then, esp once I've had that oil leak fixed.

    IF....IF it's got T28's then I think $12Kish is fair and we'll see what happens.

    If they turn out to be stockies, I'll possibly drop to around $10K and see what happens. (As well as go chasing a refund)

    Ok fair enough. I'd still like to know what price i'd be looking at to have the above mentioned problems fixed for at least the cost of parts, regardless of what you payed for this originally.

    Good comment.

    Once ive done the checks im doing I could also post useful info on the essentials.

    Stuff like the interior is down to my pickyness so i dont see much point there.

    But rear bushes you're looking at $1000 inc parts and labour (its the bushes not the sub frame, but the sub frame bushes need doing)

    Cambre Castor correction = $500 to fix the tug to the left.

    For sale threads are not the place for grand standing. If you have an opinion someones classified is not worth the money they are asking and you want to advise them of this, do it with a personal message.
