i meant you dont know anything about FATES car... so what you can service it its not hard to service anycar i mean his car inparticular he has spent heaps of money on it and has alot of mods on it... ask him his bill and youl see how much hes spent.. body kits and cosmetic stuff DO add to the value of a car...lol thinking it doesnt is just stupid, especially if someone plans to do it themself anyway... we know your against anything that makes a car look/sound good, thats why u drive a z31 we get it. (if this was true why do show ponies reach such high values?) benny was talkin about the fact his front bar and nose pannel are in raw condition (unpainted) and that maybe he should strip off some of the several mods hes done with stock parts to part it off abit. eg. brake upgrade.

Such immaturity, so you think a $3,000 body kit adds $3,000 value? Funny! Ask any car collector their opinion about a cars value when it comes to modifications... Ask someone who spent $30,000 in cosmetic stuff how much they actually got back when the sold it.

I was talking about the pure VALUE of a car, not what some 20 year old kid using mummies bank acount will PAY for a car. They are two very different things... You will ALWAYS lose money on a heavily cosmetically modified car compared to what you paid for it. Sure all that "stuff" added $5,000 to the value, but it cost you $15,000!

Agreed, the "z31 sucks" type comments get tired after a while though... My only suggestion is to at least "try" and get it fixed before trying to sell, it's going to scare alot of people away when they read the problems the car has unless the price reflects such a problem. You could probably fix it for less than you would have to reduce the asking price of the car to sell it, just an idea anyway! Good luck with it!
Was good to catch up with you today Sean, but very sad to hear your story first hand. I was afraid you would be on borrowed time with those turbos, as I am sure you were too. I agree with 300zxt's last post, that you would recover a beter price for the car if it was in a drivable condition, and you may well even decide to change your mind on the sale, who knows? A tech day would not be enough to solve your problems, but perhaps as a group we could organise an engine pull and you could get those turbos refurbished, this time with no shaft play!!!! Do you guys think this would be possible, although, I don't know if people would be too keen if you were still going to sell the car afterwards .
if you werent selling the car i would come along and help as pexzed said about getting those turbos out.....even for the experience...just tell me what to do lol

bummer fate, i realized right from the start not to take shortcuts with anything mechanical on the Z, it took me 12 months to finally get mine running sweet, albeit with a stuffed drivers side turbo which is going to be replaced with bigger and better ones, then some stupid prick t-boned me while i was minding my own business driving along the road, it has only made me more determined to see my phoenix rise from the ashes in the form of a black and beautiful Z, stick with it dude
I agree that this is not the time to say "We told you so", nor is it the time for shit fights. Pexzed's not too far from the solution(if we could just get a little bit more charitable spirit flowing here). There must be some good secondhand stock turbo's sitting around out there(given all the posts about upgrades). Surely someone could throw one in Sean's direction, and then a bit of elbow grease from a few members might even help fit it to the car. i'll lend a hand or two to do the motor pull and replace the turbos. but sad to say i don't have a spair of turbos lying around don't sell fate just fix.
Oh Sean thats just terrible news mate but not suprising given all your recent dramas with the car etc that you have come to the hard decision to sell her. All the best mate whichever way you go. If you do sell I hope you drop by every once in a while I thoroughly enjoy your posts and your unique view on topics from time to time (aka Z rated heads with you and bb) Maybe we should start a save the Fate of Fates zed campaign. Can anyone up that way help donate a bit of time to help Sean out with a turbo swap, I can possibly supply a good passenger side turbo in a few weeks when my original engine is pulled for replacement. What do you reckon all and you keen Sean or what. I think you should at least enjoy the car a bit first. Spot on Baz have to agree with you there. I thought it was catchy Simon Sorry Chilli didnt realise you posted a Save Fates Zed campaign thingy too. I think its a top idea and willing to donate my stock turbos if any good to the cause.
