How good is this... article in SMH http://www.drive.com.au/motor-news/worlds-most-popular-sports-cars-20160426-gof2ju.html 1) Ford Mustang GT First Produced: 1964 Total sold: 10 Million 2) Chevrolet Camaro First produced: 1967 Total sold: 5 Million 3) Chevrolet Corvette First produced: 1953 Total sold: 1.5 Million 4) Nissan Z Cars First produced: 1969 Total sold: 1.5 Million Sticking to the same model that Mazda utilised with its MX-5, Nissan's range of Z cars were not about out-and-out power like the American sports car, instead utilising a combination of lightweight bodies and low-slung good looks to shoot it to stardom. In production since 1969, the Z cars - from the original 240Z through 260Z, 280ZX, 300ZX, 350Z and today's 370Z - have been popular for their affordable performance and rear-drive dynamics. But that character may be coming to an end as we know it as reports surfaced last year that the Japanese brand's successor to the 370Z may be an SUV. 5) Mazda MX-5 First produced: 1989 Total sold: 1 Million 6) Porsche 911 Carrera S First produced: 1963 Total sold: 900,000
Sorry to say, Ford didn't make 10,000,000 GT Mustangs. GT Mustangs are different to the standard Mustang, just like a GT Falcon is different to the standard Falcon.
Obviously the guy who wrote the article on SMH wasn't as informed as you mate. Who cares about anything other than who's no 4 on the list!
becasue theyve been in production for 20 years more......the zed had a bit of a head start on the mx5
Also, Zds are far more expensive than MX5s. Just saying. Else Nissan would have sold a billion of them.
