.......having finished my new shed about 4 months ago, and as an incentive for "Dangerous" to start his, here is a few photos of mine. The shed is 10m X 10m, with 3m Eaves. What makes it somewhat unique, is that it was a christmas present from my wife. At last I can put a vehicle in the shed, and walk all around it... The drill/mill and lathe (toolmakers lathe, which I bought new in 1989) Welding bench, with MiG, 200amp stick, TiG, Spot Welder and Plasma Cutter (oxy/acetylene set on other wall). Other bench along one wall. Some more toys, the ZZR1100 speaks for itself (and goes way too fast), the first XR600, is registered and used for trail riding, and enduro events, such as Condo 750 (like a mini 'Safari') and is mildly modified. The other XR600 is not registered, and is used for sprints, pony expresses, and riding around the paddocks. It is very modified, and is a handfull to ride, for example, it is IMPOSSIBLE to start off, and keep the front wheel on the ground. But to prove I dont just play in the shed, here is a 20 ton Hydyaulic block splitter (for firewood), I built when the shed was first finished, about 3 months ago. Regards GT:thumbsup:
Nice spacey shed... I'm hunting around for a lofty shed to install in my back yard. The upper level will be used to chuck friends and relos in when they come to visit . The bottom will be used for 2 car spaces. Still hunting.
what's the Hafco lathe like ? I've been looking at them and they seem to be pretty good quality (got to be better than the chinese crap I have at the moment). btw. I like your shed - you can see the floor unlike mine which is cluttered with tools, machines and car parts.
Re: *jealous* I would love to have a shed that big i could drive my zed in ....but there's not enough room..
Re: *jealous* we have a 6 car garage! tis quite handy when you have 5 cars at my place all the time... just enough room!
Hafco lathes........>>> ....is a Hare & Forbes branded chinese lathe. It has a bed of 1840mm, and throw of 310mm, cuts imperial and metric threads and has a 16 speed geared head. Basically, you get what you pay for, if you want a cheap lathe, and only expect to pay a couple of grand, dont expect anything fancy. however this is a toolmakers lathe, with guarenteed tolerances (and subsequent better than average finish), and cost me $8500 in 1989. Some of the Chinese machine tools are of excellent quality, but like I said, you get what you pay for. Regards GT
Well actually......>> ...when I am about to replace the tyres on my ZZR, I intend to do a Q in the middle of the shed. But at $350 for a rear tyre (because its rated ZR), definatly not till its worn out. GT
i wish i had that much space >> i have parts piled up the sides just so i can get the zed in maybe i should take a pic so everyone can have a laugh i know i do when i look at some of the crap ive kept lol...
me too aza ....... my garage is a permanent disaster area ... no matter how many times i clear it up ... a few days and my god ...it is just an embarrassment especially when the guy over the road leaves his garage door open the whole time to reveal an absolutely spotless dinner table job ... a bit like k-zeds ...!!!! i would not be game to post a photo of mine ... !!! hmmmmm ..unless of course we had a "worst garage competition" ,,,,!!!!!!:LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL:
