Short circuit?

Just finished dropping in a new engine. Everything is all wired up correctly as far as I can tell. Battery is fully charged, everything is normal up until I go to start it, then it's as if someone flips a switch and cuts the power. I also notice a relay inside the flicking on and off quickly but randomly..

I'm also getting error code 13. But that's it.
Anyone got any ideas? Appreciate them

 

Battery terminals on tight?

You got all the earths on? Plenum, head and gearbox?

 

make sure your earth is on from your batt to firewall and to motor.

 

Epic fail. There's smoke coming from the turbos I think. Yeah I just wiggled some shot around and it's starting but now there's smoke pissing out. :S

 

What colour smoke? how long has the engine been sitting for? could be build up of moisture/crap in the exhaust?

 

new engine? or second hand mystery engine with 'low km's'
