According to my mechanic, my left rear shock has snapped off... Anyone had this fixed? He quoted me $600 to fix it so I'm after a second opinion. Does anyone in the area have some expertese and spare time? Also sorry but I've forgotten, what's the name of the driver of "300zx"? Also his details would be great. Thanks so much
As long as there isn't any damage to the surrounding area or suspension then it shouldn't cost too much. You will need a rear pair of shocks, you shouldn't just replace one. 2+0 is quite easy to change, 2+2 is a bit of a PITA as a LOT of the rear trim and seats have to come out.
Which workshops have you got quotes from, so far Craig Hall have been the cheapest (with good quality work too) for myself and a few other friends.
Not mine. Mine goes from one secure garage to another, rarely parked on the street. There's a few of the same colour around here
Only my usual braddon shop. I've been advised against driving it, so I'll have to check Craig hall out another time. Sound good
If you bring me the parts i can do it, but i can order them for you, at a competitive rate. (deposit required) I can check it out 2morrow nite if you like? the "300zx" driver you are refering to is John.
went around yesterday, pulled it all part. took some pics. ZXlife might post them up. pretty impressive stuff...
few issues we came accross. first pic up. Different sized springs in the rear... the suspect shock... failside... this was the one that had the shorter spring. funny enough, the shock on the other side was a NISSAN oem one..... This is why the rears drew some attention...
Springs should be in today, then the fun can start again... Yay haha at least nothing else could go wrong... Famous last words
