I've just replaced the bushes for my shifter and now putting it all back together but for some reason I cant get the mounting plate back on, the shifter itself and the linkage underneath are pushing too far to the left and wont sit in right.

Can someone tell me where I went wrong?

    thanks

Is it in neutral? You can't really stuff it up...

yes its in neutral, the long bolt at the bottom cant line up with the hole on the mount.
