OKay so the other day my driverside window gets stuck 1/3 of the way down.. yipeee ...not. i gave it a nudge and fiddled with the switch yay it went back up then again 3-4 days later same thing happens except this time i have to leave it 1/3 of the way down cause i cant get it back up. Then it worked again so intermittently it seems to be working but when im observing it going down and up it seems to hit a glitch or struggle when it get about 1/3 of the way down or 2/3 of the way up.

so this afternoon i finished work at 12 and thought ill pull the door trim off and see if i can fix this issue.. ive removed all the bolts and everything

(Following this guys instructions cause i couldnt find any others - http://www.duglin.net/zaudio/)

and i got the part where you have to pop the round cap out of behind where the window normally is and then undo the screw to get the upper half of the door off.. so i undo the screw bolt thingo and drop it into my door(despite my best efforts) exactly like the tutorial says not to do and i cant get it off.. so my window is @^!*#% and im having some serious issues getting the inside off my door off.. and any help and advice would be appreciated.. maybe i dont want to break anything or im doing something wrong but someone please help me im so frustrated!!! raawwrr:bash::bash::bash:

    Sounds like power window amplifier.....

Common problem with zeds. Use search and all will be revealed.

    Find that screw !

First time I took my door trim the same thing happened. The screw fell down into the door lock and next time I tried to open the door, the lock broke on the inside.

leave that screw off. not really needed and just a pain to get it out. my trim has come off many times for audio install, fixing stupid driver's side window, fixing central locking, doing retrims etc. it's only 1 screw but not having to lower your window every time is a real treat.

not to mention the day your window is stuck up and you might want to get the trim off you'll be glad you left it out.

    power window amplifier

black rectangle box that sits near the bottom of the door with 1 connector running into it. If your handy with a soldering iron you can try getting the unit apart to see if your contacts have come away or just go to a wrecker with the zed and have the door card off so you can test one before you leave. Nissan quoted me almost $400 for a new one and wreckers landed between $80 and $200 when i looked about 6 months ago

i have 2 spare perfectly working amplifiers. been trying to sort out my intermittent window for years and it's not the black box. $40 plus post each.

You don't even have to be handy with a soldering iron. I'm ham fisted with one of those and have fixed a couple of them.

Got some updates on the window.. so i figured id clean the sills and everything like suggested ... i havnt sussed out the black box yet cause im a noob when it comes to soldering lucky i have friends who know what there doing.. but NOW

When the window goes up seems to get stuck halfway up and starts making a horrid noise as though its still trying to push the window up and i have to give the window a tug upward slightly in order for it to continue winding up which is better then what it was doing.. any more ideas? still think its the black box? or the amplifier?

Check the window regulator (the scissor like frame that supports window and has the motor mounted to it)

Pull it out and see if the arms are cracked or if its worn where the gears run

sounds a bit like my problem i had but it was the power window motor that caused it for me. Maybe check that?
