    Hey all

As you may now know I'm selling my 300Zx and yes, I upped the price. I've has a couple of idiotic offers about the $8000 mark and a couple of more serious offers. I've currenntly got 3 serious people inquiring so it's time to serioulsy think ahead. Nothing might come of the inquiries but better to plan now rather than later.

Also had 3 scammers make offers but who the hell pays sight unseen, full price, works on an oil rig and needs a car let alone a 300ZX , arranges for private or 'their agent' to collect and laslty, pays via paypal. One was so bad that I could not call them for confirmation because they were out of mobile range and the satellite phone has mysteriously broken but they could still email. well needless to say, I've not heard back from them and they have moved on to bluff some other poor fool who is so desperate to sell thay will be blinded by logic or sensible thinking.

Back to the more realistic offers I've had.

I'm taking delivery of my Honda HRV 6th of June. The NSW dealer has been great to hold it for me and even collect me at the airport provided I drive him back to the dealership.
The Honda HRV is now all signed and paid for so it's mine... cool :)

My 3 options for payment/delivery are:

    Non refundable but small deposit

Refundable but larger deposit (less delivery cost if they don't buy)

Full payment but slightly discounted price

What have other members who have sold 300ZX's interstate done re payment/delivery??
can you post up what you have done.. or what you would do, cheers.

I think these are fair options for selling my 300Zx because although, I have offered free delivery it is only to the purchaser. If they do not go through with the purchase they are not entitled to free delivery.

I am not about to deliver to NSW, Vic or SA only to arrive and the have the buyer think "Hang on, I can save a bit of cash here ... because he now has 2 cars to take back to Tassie and if I don't buy his 300ZX so he will have to accept a lesser price to off load the 300ZX" because they are right I can not drive 2 cars back to tassie.

Now here is where they get it wrong, I would turn around and drive back to Tasmania because it's the Tasmanian term 1 school holiday and I have 2 weeks off so plenty of time to get back to Tasmania and get to fly to NSW to collect the HRV.

Hence the reason I bought the Honda HRV for early June collection and if I explain the stuffing about to the dealer I'm sure they will hold the HRV given that it's paid for in full by a bank cheque that has since been confirmed as cashed by them.

What have others done when selling interstate...amd I being too cautious or too sceptical or harsh??

    Cheers, all
    Pete

    katrinaz MOO IS MY BITCH

forget about free delivery as a sales pitch
take the free delivery cost off the purchase price ,let them pay the full purchase price before the car goes anywhere, and let them worry about getting it delivered
If they are a serious buyer, the will organise delivery,if they dont, they are not a serious buyer

your options look like giving you a world of pain if they dont go as planned ,good luck with it all,Katrina

    Cheers.. but

I thought about the world of pain.. but given that it's the Tasmanian school holidays I thought a nice cruise to NSW or SA (Vic is only a ferry trip away) might be nice, especially for one last cruise in my beloved 300ZX .

I have 2 weeks holidays, so no rush because I've only got 'house renovations to finish like sowing some grass seed and laying the last floor boards in the laundry". Jeeze, I need the excuse to get out of the house.. lol

If the 300Zx is not sold before 6th June ( or at the latest 13th June)... I'll cut the delivery price out and let a buyer arrange delivery because I'll not be able to deliver after Mid June anyhow..

    Cheers, Pete
