This would have to be the best dual MAF conversion kit available. These products speak quality right from when you open the box how well they are packed to the general finish of each item. As you can see below there are two boxes because they are two separate items to purchase. Yes you can buy them separately but you get a discount if you buy both. Purchased through CZP and as usual, great service and very fast delivery :)

Item 1 is the Selin Dual Intake Elbow Kit. Quality formed black silicon hoses that fit perfectly to the existing intake piping and to the Mass Air Flow Meter(MAF). The stainless steel clamps are top shelf as well with no binding or twisting in the worm drive when you clamp them up. What makes this dual intake kit unique compared to other items available is the 'H' bracket that joins the two AFM's together and is then braced to the front reinforcing bar.

Item 2 is the Selin Dual MAF Translator. This piece of electronics essentially allows the use of 2 MAF sensors where traditionally, one intake is supplemented with a dummy pipe in place of a second MAF sensor. The benefit of running 2 MAF's is purely a very accurate analysis of the intake air volume. The only other alternative to be able to run 2 MAF sensors is by a modification to the wiring loom and using an interceptor, an Apexi SAFC for example. The Selin Dual MAF Translator is cheaper and also plug and play.

The Dual MAF Translator can be used in one of two modes. When selected to 'ADD', this will allow dual MAF use with no alterations to the ECU and allow for approximately 500HP worth of airflow. When selected to 'AVG', this allows for double the amount of metered air flow volume effectively removing the 500HP hurdle. All that is required is to double the injector K-Value and it's ready to go, a breeze if you have Nistune.

As you can see it's a really neat fit. Although not listed in the instructions, the bracket supplied with the translator bolts on to the intake kit 'H' bracket for a really OEM finish. Only modification I made was to grind out some of the lip of the front reo bar to make the bracket fit flush. Engine fired up and ran as expected, no low speed drivability issues! Time to wind up the boost :zlove:

Are the cables long enough to allow running two pods under each headlight, or can cables be modified to suit? Thinking of this for people like me with FMICs and limited real estate up front.

"An extended harness option is available for those who need to mount their filters and mass air units beneath the headlights for FMIC installations". ;)

vote for this kit, only problem I had was with the A/M oil cooler, apart from that the salim kit is a winner!

Would there be much of a power gain for the guys with say 220-30 RWKW's on stock turbo to add this and not change much else? thanks. Great write up & pics btw Karl!

Jim Selin is in the process of correcting a shielding issue with his Translator.
Transient RF energy from nearby electrical components (HID ballasts, condensor fan motor, etc) can cause irregular operation of the Translator and thereby poor idle/running conditions.
