hi guys, just wondering for those who have an 2+2 imported that is now on the road, whether or not i have to have rear seatbelts that go accross the shoulder or if i can use the lap belts?

no one seems to know these things, not even vic roads.

also for a 2+2 do i need one of those baby capsule restraining points?

even if you dont know how it could be done, if you could just tell me what yours has done would be great
any help would be very much appreciated

any idea how this can be done?

do you know if there is a kit you can buy for it or somewhere in melbourne that can do it? the people that "complianced" my car have done a useless job on it. are they hard to install?

the seat belts are an easy instal, u can buy the belts and u have to make a small bracket to make them fit. as for the child ancorage points u need 2 of them one on each side. basicaly behind the seat u just screw them in and cut 2 holes in the carpet.

If your car has already been complianced

then yes, they sure did a useless job because the rear lap/sash belts are a legal requirement that is meant to be done by the compliancer.

The procedure is that you get your car complied (rear belts, side intrusion bars, flat external mirror, petrol filler restrictor etc) and they supply an engineers certificate to varify that it's all complied and legal.

Then you get get your RWC (same as any car needs for registration) and you must present both certificates at time of registration.

Most compliance jobs for Z's seem to be around the $1500 mark. If you have already been 'complied' I' be complaining to them cos they sound seriously unprofessional.

Only realized now that ur in Melb.

So if you dont wanna DIY or go back to the same guys, you could try Dean at "Ultimate Peformance Imports" in Moorabbin 9555 3611 mob. 0411 691 744.

He complied mine and I was happy his work. I can't recommend Carisma in Abbotsford cos my mate used them - got his car back with bald rear tyres, an extra 100 k's on the odometer and a rattling mirror glass

    Stuff

    Heya Owen,
did you fing the child restraint points?
under the rear carpet, theres two little black round stickers, thats them..
the top mounts for the belts are there, you just need to cut a hole in the plastic trim,
and make a bracket for the retractor to mount.. :)
