    Hey guys,
A little while ago I had the idea to buy a set of split dumps, and modify them a bit so the wastegate vented to atmosphere. But everyone I suggested the idea to shot me down, saying it wouldn't work, so I just forgot about it. I just recently read in mrzedx's build thread that this is what he plans to do too.

So my question is would it actually scream? :br:

it would sound crap with stockies. but if you had some big turbos and a decent size gate it wouldnt sound to bad. and big boost otherwise it will be screaming everywhere.

And screamers are really friggen loud! No good on a street car IMO. Have to be careful where you route the pipeing too, heard of a few nice little engine fires on S13's from screamers

Pushing decent boost and high RPM, screamers become flame throwers. Not to mention if you had big cams...

can be done have a look in one of my prev threads about my dumps. the biggest problem you will face is that all split dump setups never really completly block/isolate the wastegate area from the exhaust side. you will always have exhaust gasses leaking into the wastegate side so you will need to take the eng out and get something made up for the back of the turbo so it completly isolates each side 100%

and it sound pretty tuff ive only ever had it in screamer mode once, but even with the exhaust gasses sound coming out when boost is hit dammm its so loud and awsome.... i should have made a video

p.s ill be selling them when i get the bigger turbos in aswell prob before end of next year as ill just be getting bellmouths then.

My mate had a screamer pipe on his rx4..

A friend commented that it sounded like (and I quote) "Satan riding out of hell on the back of a wildebeast"

    Was really f*!king loud!

So to answer your q.. it probably will scream ;)

    It will work.
For mine, I reckon screamers are the biggest load of wank bollocks Ive ever known.
    IMHO of course!

Haha donor hermit! Cost me 300 at an exhaust shop to weld piping to te back of the dump so it isolates the wastegate and pissed the shit spacer off! It's the same as gltech do for r33's etc, got the waste gate side extended to as close to the ground as incould and should be set :p

I mean, screamers are the last thing I'm worried about when the popo get me

Screamer mode being any time the waste gate opens?
Sadly havent even put the engine in Chad ! So not sure how well it will last haha. But the gktech had no leaks and this is virtually the same. Any pics of your set up?

ahh sorry what i meant by screamer mode is i have my exhaust done in a way that you can have it in screamer mode and normal mode. so normal exhaust system, and when i want i have an adaptable section that i take off and its in screamer mode...

do u have any pics of what you did with the back of the dump ? this is the only reason i havnt run it in screamer mode as i havnt been able to isolate the sides correctly...
