HI guys I just convert my door into scissors door, If there are any members interested in the hinges, then I will try and get it laser cut and welded same as mine. I dont know how much it will cost but I think around $500 max, that how much it cost me other wise I think it too much, not worth get it done. cause i know that u can buy them for $1600. If there are alots of member interested then I try and get a better deal with the engineer guy. there are no profits in it for me so u guys think I should get some profit. Its has two hinges and 4 gas struts 2 on each sides, and if any one who know where to get cheap gas struts then it will be cheaper cause I got my struts for $35 each, The gas strut must be able to hold 80 kg each that around 18000 newton. I will try to post some pictures up. some one should try to organise a group buy or just give me a call 0431564955 so I know how many peoples are interested. cheer guys
I'm definatly interested in converting my doors... I'll await pics and a better indication of prices.
Iam SOOOO in Hey mate if ui can show some pics of the conversion uve done and they look nice iam defffently in for a set!!
Scissors door for 300zx Ok here is a pic of what it looks like on a 300zx picture taken from the 2005 melbourne auto salon. Sorry if the picture is still big its been resized. A company in melbourne sells the kits. Nath
this should probably be posted in group buys but anyway... are scissor doors ADR approved, etc? will you need to get permits and engineer reports? does this guy modify your existing hinges or give you new ones... people may want to only have them on for shows etc... ??? and have you got any pics of other angles??
can you open the doors with the windows fully up or do they have to be opened and closed with the windows at least partially down u get wot i mean
can you open the doors Yeah you can open the doors with the windows fully up. It pretty much is like the lambos... I had a look at the setup at auto salon on some of the cars there and it seem as its one hinge on each side. i dont have any pictures of how it looks etc just pictures of cars thats it. Nath
does any one know how hard it is to get in and out of the scissor door cars?? cause the opening looks small. they do look sic
i'd be interested but like the others i will wait for u to post some pictures and give us a final cost so i know what im up for...
RE: does any one know how hard it is to get in and out it looks ok from the pic of the green Z. may not seem like it at first coz of the front view, but have a look at the opening on the other side. opening seems sufficient, but i guess it depends on the person's physique
the pic of the green 300zx the doors are not all the way up. when they are all teh way up its pretty high i would say its easy to get in and out. pretty much look at a picture of a lamo with them all the way up that should sum it up for you take a look at this link... Vertical Doors Nath
Re: the pic of the green 300zx The opening doesnt look too big from the pics. Wonder if you would have problems in underground car parks with the doors hitting the roof? I must be getting old. Normal doors seems easier to get in and out of.
i want i want need conform on price and install though, do wee have to come to your mechanic or can any one do it
doors hey guys...the green z is a personal mates ride...if you had gone to the autosalon you would have seen about 4 z's with the doors, all off the same business... $500 is a very cheap price for doors, and im prob certain you wont get that price anywhere.... but if u guys would like to have a talk to the guy who has done the doors for those autosalon z's then i can hook u up... im guessing also looking at the 1500 mark ... hence why i said 500 is very cheap...maybe there is different hydrolics involved etc....quality etc? if you guys have checkt out the $500 doors and they all seem very well done and good monuvering then this should be the forums choice.... again if any1 is still interested to talk to the guy who did the autosalon z's im more than happy to supply you with contact details etc...
Doors Is your mate in Sydney if yes I would like his details however are ur mates doors ADR approved with engineers certificate?
I think they are fairly easy to get in and out of.. I saw a white Zed pull up down at my local shops and the guy seemed to get out of it quite quickly and easily, he was on an angle but it looked easy. Danny--
