My car seems to have started running lean which has caused it to run 3-5 deg hotter than normal. This appears to be intermittant as just drove to Ashmore AFR perfect & normal temp 75-78deg. Turned car off, got in to come home & AFR lean, temp 80-83deg. Note AFR is narrow band so I understand it's not super accurate. Thanks in advance for any info Pete
Thats still a perfectly normal temperature and if you turned your Z off and then back on then heatsoak? or am I missing something here? and your o2's are how old? and are they working?
As said today Pete, get yourself consult or ecu talk so you can monitor your sensors. Makes life alot easier, especially for you in the middle of no where. You can pick the cables up pretty cheap from ebay.
Give this a try as well. It is not for fixing your issue generally but after what you said today about opening up the front end it might be worth a shot. Shroud the front of your pod with a plastic flower pot like this
i wouldnt go by stock o2's if your not sure borrow a wideband. it could be something like your water temp sender is a bit dicked
I was looking at doing a GB on O2's but @ $99 ea for genuine NGK's it's a bit exxy. As per Eric's suggestion, check the operation via ConZult first off. If you are picking up that banner, Pexy could possibly run a test for you.
Well yet again this forum has proved that we are there to help each other. A BIG THANKS TO ALL for the advice & input. Just to let you all know was out in the car today & all my aftermarket gauges & stereo stopped working Got home pulled the gauges out & found a bad earth, soldered it went for a THRASH & everything is now spot on Gauges reading correct temps, AFR & oil pressure. So there was no problem just false readings because of bad earth. I feel like a bit of a D@#*HEAD.
It's often something simple that will have one pulling hair out... no need to feel like a DH, others have been there and even gone further, dismantling half the car before finding the 'simple' fix. Anyway, you encouraged me to find a better price on O2's. :zlove:
