Rubber seals - it rains inside my 300 :(

    Hey guys,
A few months ago I was on the forum and saw a kit that had all the rubber (weather) seals for 90-96 300's. As of late my poor 300 has had to be parked outdoors and thus the heat and weather has ruined the seals. They are so bad it now rains inside and as much as I've tried I can't seem to find anywhere that has the seals brand new or a package with the lot for the car (might as well re-do the lot).

Any ideas as to where I could find anything along these line?

    Cheers

Concept Z Performance in the states is your best bet. Still won't be cheap for all new gen. Nissan seals.

Until you get them, you can try rubbing vaseline onto your old seals to help them seal a bit better?

If you have a targa top, pretty sure there are drains holes somewhere around the targa seals to prevent water sitting and causing rust. Check that isnt blocked.

Where else is the water coming in? If its going down the front pillars, then take your windscreen molding off and make sure there are no gaps between the front glass and the rubber. If there is, use some silicon.

if your rubber seals behind the A-pillar where it butts up with the targa over the window are getting squashed by the window, then it is an easy fix.

You just clean out the rubber channel in the A-pillar rubber (be gentle because the rubber is old)
Then find a donor car antenna (not yours) and use it.

Cut a 3cm length and use it as a stent in the rubber seal along the A-pillar.

This keeps the water channel open and stops your seat and floor getting flooded.

PS: this is much better than covering your targa roof with glad wrap.

... but Gladwrap is $5.00 for 50 metres ... will last you a lifetime ....

the gladwrap tip was given to me by a BMW 3 series convertible owner.

the roof was out of alignment after he had his windscreen replaced by O'Briens (using non genuine glass and never done one before) the glass is a structural member and has to be bonded to the windscreen frame precisely.
    It wasn't

How is your ragtop in this wet weather?

Sounds like you are speaking from experience Baz. What colour does the car turn when you wrap it in glad wrap ?

I had 20mm of water on the passenger side in silver once when the drain hole was blocked. Not a drop after i blew it out with compressed air

Definitely try cleaning the drainage holes first. Can be as easy as running water down them. If you're going to snip an antenna to do it, be sure to not use the point end, don't want to puncture those tubes!

Great, mate .... driver's side top seals had been damaged and did leak ... fixed that with replacements from COZ .. now leak free on both sides.

EDIT: but NOT cheap .. !!!

    PS to Jono93

The short piece of antenna (use the 5 mm diameter)
is used as a stent inserted into the opening of the drainage hole at top of rubber seal in A-pillar. If you have the problem of the window closing with enough force to squash the drain closed, then this could stop that.

Worked for me and my car is out in heavy rain tonight, so I'll see if it is still working in the morning.

So far the only place I can find the seals new are a concept Z and it'll cost a fortune to get them but the vaseline worked and clearing drainage holes reduced the amount of water build up and water that made it into the car.

    Thanks a heap guys
