Road Dyno

I did a road dyno on the Zed the other day using DatalogDyno and got a result of 237.7RWKW and 385.2NM @ 6118rpm (that's as high as I revved it). All this at 0.59BAR which is less than stock boost.

This figure seems to me to be a bit high for that boost level so I'm thinking I must have got some of the parameters wrong.

    I'll give my mods first:

Apexi pod, 3" dump back exhaust, freshly rebuilt stock turbo's, forged bottom end 1mm oversize. PZP side by side FMIC, OS Giken triple plate clutch. That's pretty much all the performance mods I've done.

These are the parrameters I used to get that figure.

Mass: 1580kg (A 2+2TT is probably heavier with me and fuel included but that would only increase the figure)

Tyre Circumference: 202cm (265/35/R18, calculation made here)

Front Weight: 50% (I ran it at 40% and 60% as well and it had no bearing on the result)

Tyre Grip: 1g (you need slicks to get better traction than that and again any lower and the figure will only go up)

Final Drive: 3.67 (got from searching this forum)

Gear Ratio(2nd): 1.925 (from here at the bottom of the page)

So what gives? As far as I can tell the parameters are good, but I refuse to believe I'm making 237rwkw at less than 9psi.

EDIT: Oh, and I got the data from two runs on a flat road, one each way, which should average out any slight inclines.

I dont know anything about rhe dyno inputs. But as you say that figure is wrong. You'd need 1bar boost to make over 230rwkw

i got 100rwhp on a g-tech road dyno because of wheelspin.

I agree the figure is wrong, but I disagree you need 1bar boost to beat 230rwkw. I got 240rwkw on 12psi on the last car. Similar mods except on of my conrods was slightly bent as I hydrolocked it the week before and the rod snapped a few weeks later.

    Ditto...

    I made 235rwkw@12psi

So how many horsepower are bent rods going to add to my NA :p :p

    Don't you have

to enter weather station readings as well?
Which will give you the correction factor.

on an un calabrated dyno i made 240 rwkw at 5800rpm 13 psi with a stock exhust and the boost wouldnt go any higher due to restrictive exhust that being said my motor is not realy stock

Yeah, you do and I did, but it doesn't make much difference anyway.

So unless anyone can point out a glaring error in my data, say diff ratio or tyre circumference, I guess the only conclusion I can come to is that the software isn't accurate, which is a shame. I guess I'll just have to pay to use a real dyno.

Um, did anybody noticed he said he had 'freshly rebuilt stock turbos'? I seriously doubt stock turbos with those mods at that pressure will give 230RWKW. Tunes that have been done of late on stock turbos and engines are getting between 230 and 250RWKW with boost of 1.1 Bar and more.

Jono and Scrubber definitely do not have stock turbos which will make a lot more power at lower pressure. Andy I thought your rig had bigger snails than stock too?
