ok guys, so one of my friends has been respraying and fixing cars for a while now and i have been looking at his jobs of late and was quite impressed. so when he offered to do my Z for a very good price (given some paint wear and scratches since last respray 2 years ago) i jumped at the chance.

however there is a catch, he said any mod i want to have done (external panels) is possible and almost any colour combo and effect too.

i have a non-existent imagination so was gunning for some help in picking colours effects and tasteful mods!!!

also he told me the fender indicators are not required by law and can be shaved, as can the rear bumper reflectors (jap spec). just wondering if that is correct??

other than that hit us up for some ideas.

What color is your car now? are you going for a color change or do you want to keep same sort of color so you wont have to spray engine bay etc.

ps. i don't want a hot orange or yellow zed, although i like them they are a bit too out there for me, i was thinking a metallic black with silver through it so that in bright light it comes up silver whilst being black the rest of the time

also has anyone got pics of gonzo fenders fitted and painted??
and i was also thinking of going for a bonnet scoop, just raising the lines in the bonnet a little more, kind of like an xr8 falcon

well the car is metallic silver atm, but the engine bay is pretty tidy and i would leave it the same colour

i quite like the silver and was intending to keep it that colour as it looks great with black wheels, but with all these colours he was throwing at me i kind of thought why not try something new

Matte colours are all the rage at the moment... I wouldn't know how they are maintained or how they will age but I think they look pretty awesome.

    Matte Silver

And then there's the Slot car kickin around in Matte black which looks tough!

    that does look good.
must add i do like bhp's matte black z (even done with spray cans if i recall) but looked nice

definately not going for candy colours or anything that would be a PITA to touch up or keep clean

Seriously do not remove the front side indicators, my D21 Kingcab does not have these and it regularly catches out useless drivers who don't look hard enough to see the ones on the front. A lot of the time when I am turning right in to a side street idiots will start to pull out as they haven't seen the indicator and think I am going straight past.
I have a had a lot of near misses with that - normally woman drivers with the kids in the car, too much of a hurry and not paying enough attention

Anyway point is DO NOT REMOVE THEM! I drive a lot of other cars around and hardly ever have an issue, it's only when in the ute with out those side indicators I have that problem.

Bayside blue is awesome but then I painted mine that colour so you can't have it :p:zlove:

benny's colour isn't bayside blue, it's electric blue and it's a STOCK colour. very rare and only 2-3% of zeds made had this colour.
